This isn't my area of expertise, but I think it might be okay. Small bags may not have a number but they can. Sometimes the same style was made both with and without a number. Here is a post showing what this style is supposed to look like. The patches don't match exactly. ETA: Here's one on ebay. Apparently each side of this bag is different so the one on Poshmark is probably authentic.

You might also ask about the strap length, at that time the standard length was 44 inches including the clips but the seller says 38 inches. I'm not sure if Coach was still offering any alternate strap lengths in 1997 but if they did, it's not mentioned in their catalogs. I'm wondering if the strap has been modified.

I asked the seller about the strap, and the response was that it's the original strap. However, I just noticed that the strap is not adjustable, and the straps on other Court bags I've seen have all been adjustable - did this bag ever come with an original non-adjustable strap?

6. Mahogany Willis - I usually stay away from Willis's because there are so many fakes, but I am as big a sucker for Mahogany as I am for Red. The leather is coming off the dowel, but I don't see any red flags. Court Bags came with a 44-inch non-adjustable strap until early 1997 so that strap fits with the date code on the bag.

Just wondering about this bag. I found the exact bag in a listing on ebay except my bag only has the lozenge stamp, this bag has the little metal tag.


Mine is navy. at the top of the strap is a sliding piece of leather that makes the 2 separate straps kinda come together at the top... and that's what the picture is of the staples...the top of the strap when you slide that piece of leather from the middle.

Back again, this time with some vintage bags --

Item #: Green Mini Bucket Bag ?
Measurements : Strap 45.5 inches with four grommets on each side. Bag is 10 inches wide at the top, 6 inches deep, and 7.5 inches. Interior pocket is 6 x 5.5 inches
Comments: This first one I have my doubts on being real, but then sometimes I look at it again and it all seems to check out. My areas of concern are the zipper which seems to be a bit dodgy, but I wonder if maybe wasn't a replacement or just beat to death? I've seen pictures of bags in the same style in different colors with similar cotton/polyester zippers, but that's only what I can see. Also the creed says made in the USA, but the factory code is E. I know that A, B, and C would have checked out on this bag, but the E is a I'm not so sure on. The grommets on the strap look almost silver, the backs have a brass patina and in certain lights you can see what looks like worn off brass on the fronts of the grommets. The zipper pull on the top of the bag doesn't have a horizontal stitch close to the zipper that I'm used to seeing on Coach bags.






Item: Blue Trail Bag?
Measurements: Strap is 47 inches with 4 grommets on each side. Bag measures 8.25 inches wide, 6.5 inches tall, and 4 inches deep. Pocket is set into the bag of the bag and goes the width with a zip. There is also one slip pocket in the back of the bag.
Comments: This was I'm a bit more certain about (considering I've already started washing it), but better safe than sorry. :D
