What could possibly account for the different fonts?

I don't know. I have never seen a "1" like that on an authentic bag.

Here is a link to Katev's bag that was made 2 months earlier. You can see the "1" is like the other authentic examples.

This listing is for the same bag, same year, same plant but from 3 months later. The 1 looks different and there's no dash.

They must have had more than one stamp at the plant and only one of them put in the extra dash. It is on enough bags that look authentic.

The first one looks like a dinky bag. The black one is not a city bag. It looks like a convertible clutch. Both look authentic.

When you buy a fake, there's always a dispute process you can follow. You wouldn't lose the money and be stuck with a fake to destroy.

Most of the time I don't get involved with styles made in the last 5 or 6 years, so there's no need to wait for my opinion on newer bags. BeenBurned and Whateve have a lot more experience with those styles than I do.

ETA - which bag are we talking about? The newer one or the 9966?
