The leather is amazing!
I have been looking for one for months, and I was afraid I'd jinx it if I said I thought that's what it might be. I got this and the crescent bag at the same time. The vintage bags seem to travel in pairs at my local GW.I have one bag with that mark. I sent photos to the Cashin Foundation about 7 years ago and was told that my bag was produced "after 1974, the last year that Cashin worked for the firm". Obviously, that doesn't mean much, because the mark itself could have been used before 1974.
The bag looks like a pre-creed Crescent Bag to me. That mark and quite a few others were used during AND after the Cashin era. It's all a big mystery.
It's an authentic convertible clutch, probably from around 1979 to the early 80's.
I don't know. People sell vintage bags on Etsy, Bonanza, and ebay, or at consignment shops. It is pretty rare to find an unused bag this old.
Definitely, as long as it doesn't seem to be falling apart! I dunked a pre-creed bag and it came out great.
I can't remember if I posted it at the time. This is it. The leather is stiffer and thinner than the bags with creeds. The hardware is solid brass and very heavy.
