There's supposed to be a wrist strap, that's what the torn-away loop the seller mentions was for, it's actually a wristlet rather than a wallet. We'd really like to see a readable pic of the creed patch. I don't know if the lining is sewn to the seams but if it's not, it can just be pulled loose so a photo can be taken of the creed.

I don't see any obvious problems in the photos, but if the seller wasn't sure it was genuine she should never have listed it. All name-brand items on Ebay are supposed to be authentic beyond question.

Thanks so much!

Hi. First post here! I just bought a "vintage" coach stewardess bag on eBay (after buying and returning the new version of it, wanted that classic leather) I came across this forum after searching for tips on how to restore it. Now I am concerned about its authenticity. Can you helpful folks check it out for me? And any helpful restoration tips would be appreciated!

The stitching on the strap areas is very uneven.

Here are two genuine bags showing how the strap end should look:

Below is a creed from a GENUINE bag showing exactly the same production codes B6E- and any other bag with those codes should show the same plant location, which should be Italy, not the US.

No need for apologies, that's why we're here. Have you contacted the seller?
I did, thank you for asking. She immediately and very graciously refunded the price of the purse and the original shipping with an apology. I am going to destroy the bag.

She mentioned in her reply that she is just starting to sell Coach bags and honestly thought it was authentic. I recommended that she consider having them authenticated here before posting them for sale.

Now I bought the same style on ebay and want to know if this one is genuine. no creed pics and no mention of it being "authentic."

Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281088266873

Item: Coach Women's Handbag, Vintage Backpack/Sling, Crafted in America, Black

Seller: negril373

Item number: 281088266873

Also I need to email the seller as I think the bag I bought of the same style (9992) is fake) (serial number is A7C-9992. can be seen in pics from auction link below).

The reason I think it's fake is because it just doesn't feel sturdy and the leather is coming apart at the seams (not the quality of coach i'm used to) as you can see in the photos. Also the tag attached to the front is upside down on one side (i have a ton of vintage coach bags and I would assume this screams fake). I don't know if this is violating rules but I figure I'd throw it in this post before I email the seller about how she sold me a fake vintage bag (from 1997). It also has stretch marks on the side. I don't know it just doesn't feel right… any help would be appreciated!!

Link to purchased, possibly fake bag:

seller: hmgallagher

Also if anyone has any info on this style and how to spot a real one that would be helpful! Been searching for this style a while now...
Thanks!

Please use the format in Post #1 for authentication requests.

Bag #1:
And as we've reminded other posters here just in the last few days, please do as post #1 suggests and Search for the seller's name and auction number in case the item has already been authenticated, like this one.
Here, and two answers:
