I just bought this Coach Madison off Ebay from the same seller at $278, I am not a coach expert by any means but it just feels 'off' to me. Of course, says made in China but the quality feel's strangely off and it is A LOT smaller then I expected it to be. The smaller handles woud not fit on your shoulder, only a wrist. This maybe my fault for not checking it out closer.
Are you saying that you purchased your bag from seller lifedeal99?

Had you asked before buying, I probably would have recommended against lifedeal99 because in at least some of the listings, the seller doesn't use her own pictures. Some listings use pictures stolen from other sellers and other lisitngs use stolen stock photos.

For example, in this listing, she uses another sellers WATERMARKED picture.

As for the bag you received, we need to see pictures of the actual bag including a clear photo of the creed.

Regarding the handles, they aren't mean to fit on your shoulder. There's a separate shoulder strap.

ETA: Is this the listing you purchased?

So far, it seems to be okay (pending a picture of the creed) and the pictures appear to be the seller's own. But in the future, please request creed pictures before buying.

Hi Ladies,
Would you please let me know if this Coach purse is authentic? I got it from a friend and based on my gut instinct looking carefully at this bag I feel it is not authentic but need your expert advice. Thank you so much in advance!
Item Name: Creed Plate M4S-7414
Approximate Measurements: 7.5" H (measured from top cover/flap) x 8.5"W at top of bag (9" at widest point) x 3"D

A few more pictures that may help. Again, thank you!

VERY fake. It's trying to be a Tribeca bag but there are a ton of things wrong with it. The strap is cheaply made, totally wrong and not in any design made by Coach (Coach never uses just rivets to secure their strap ends, they're always stitched), the logo is missing, the date code is 5 years off for that style bag, the creed is a mess and the serial number is in the wrong font and the style number -7414 belongs to a completely different bag, picture below. Those "elephant-skin" wrinkles on the leather piece under the flap are also a HUGE red flag.

That number is also on my Fake Serial numbers list posted here at tPF, and I think on Daria48's Fake Coaches list posted at Ebay. I can't say often enough how important it is to keep these lists for reference and to check them before bidding on, buying or trading for any Coach especially older all-leather ones:

My posts here say "M4S-7414 is showing up on quite a few fakes. The entire number is invalid and that style code would never be on a bag with that prefix - ALWAYS fake."

Whatever deal you cut with your friend I suggest you tell her you want to return the fake to her. It can't be legally sold or traded anywhere in the US or in most countries with anti-counterfeiting laws.

Thank you so very much, Hyacinth! I was pretty sure it was but needed your expert opinion. Thanks again!

Hi again,
I got concerned that one other of my Coach bags may not be authentic. I think it is, but would feel much more at ease if you could tell me. Also, if it is authentic, what style/name is it, could you tell me what approximate year they made this style?
Thank you!

Thanks Beenburned, yes taht is the bag I purchased (the $279 on) from lifedeal. I'll try to get creed pics today. Guess I'm stuck regardless, as it says no returns anyway, ut just wondering. If legit, I may relist it as it is just way too small for my lifestyle. Thank you!

Authentic sling bag, style #9929 from the early 90's.

You're welcome.

Just to let you know, you're never "stuck" with a bag if it isn't "as described." A seller can certainly have a no-return policy, but in having it, the seller is responsible for accurately describing the bag, both in terms of condition and authenticity. If it's not as described, you either get the seller to agree to the return or you would file a SNAD (significantly not as described) dispute.

Hello ladies! could someone (hopefully) authenticate this bag for me? I won the auction last week but didn't ask then because I did not have pics of the creed. I'm hoping its an Abbie Zip. Can you also tell me the color if you know it. As always, thanks a bunch!!! You gals are so generous with your time and it is appreciated.
