Hello everyone! I wonder if you could authenticate these bags I bought at Savers today? I believe the first is a Soft Legacy Zip Tote? here are are the pics:

The second one, I believe is a laptop/diaper bag from the Mercer collection?

ello purseblog forum, new member but I've been lurking for quite some time :)

I am on the hunt right now for a Coach Willis in British Tan to replace my current everyday bag that is worn to bits but I can't seem to part with. I was wondering if any of the lovely vintage/older coach experts could authenticate these listing i'm currently watching. Both are from the same seller (just different years)

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/FAB-Vintage-...15&category=63852&cmd=ViewItem#ht_6793wt_1183
- I don't think this is actually from the Bonnie Cashin era, but someone can confirm that

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/FAB-Vintage-...US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3ccf1a0e6b&_uhb=1
- this one seems newer (1999?) so the leather appears to be a bit less broken in

Thanks in advance!

Both look ok - the first is a Soft Legacy Zip Tote and the second one is some kind of Mercer Tote but I don't have a name on file.

The Bonnie Cashin era ended in 1974 so there's no Willis or probably any Coach with any kind of serial number that would ever be from that time period. Cashin had nothing to do with the Willis which wasn't introduced until 1993. It's too bad the seller couldn't do some basic research instead of using terms she either doesn't understand or chooses to use where they're not accurate or appropriate. JMO.

The first one was made in 1995 so technically it's not quite vintage (20 years or older) and neither is the one from 1999, both bags are genuine..

Thank you! She's is very nice, of course I think everyone is nice lol! One more if you have time

Item: lot of 4 purses

Notes: she also sent details of the creeds that I've added below. ..TIA

The black one is fake. From what I can see of the others, they look okay.

Hmmm... Well I really got the lot for the suede one and the little wallet so I guess for the price I'm ok with it? Should I ask her to remove that one and lower the price? Any advice appreciated!

To add to Whateve's comment, the black one has a known invalid serial number.

The other two bags look okay and I think the wallet is probably okay though the pictures aren't sufficient to authenticate it.

As for the listing, the seller risks having it removed because as long as there's one fake in the lot , the whole listing is in violation.

The fake serial number, 012-3445 is listed on this page:

BTW, in this listing, if seller vintagebags956 needs further evidence that the black bag with the fake and always invalid serial number is counterfeit, she should look closely at the text on the creed.

She'll see scrtches and marxings and possibly wrinxles.

Thank you Hyacinth! I knew you'd be the one to come to my aid

Yes they weren't familiar with the color referencing either when I confirmed with them it was indeed the British Tan (hard to tell with some photos) and I do agree the vintage term gets thrown around a little too loosely.

Thanks again! I will keep my eyes on them and see how the prices go (hoping i'll nab up one of them at least!) I kind of like the character of the 1995 but the 1999 one is obviously in a little bit better shape.
