Could some one take a look at this bag and tell me if it's authenticate and if so perhaps when it was made. Also I've never seen so much leather left after a seam as there is on the inside top front of this bag. It's at least 1/2” long. Thank you in advance for your opinion! :-)

It looks like a genuine Devon Bag style 9908 from the early 90s. I can't comment about the size of that leather piece since I don't own that style bag. Maybe someone who has the same style can take a look.

I just want to make sure you are seeing the dirt on the bags you are asking about. They are not like the older bags that can be given a bath.

The teal one might be beyond cleaning.

The multi-function tote - the interior looks dirty - that can be cleaned (most likely).

Thank you so much for pointing that out! I did not notice, I was focused on the styles and colors. I ended passing on both bags...for other reasons. I'm a newbie to used bags, so I appreciate knowing what to look for in the future. Thanks again for the info!

These don't seem to be authentic to me, but before I post them in the "Fakes" thread, I'm interested in hearing other opinions ~ ever seen these styles of 'Coach' Fobs before?

Item: Apple Key Fob
Listing number: 110969028377
Seller: smithc7

Comments:
Two other listings from same seller:
Dog Fob: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-COACH-CRYSTAL-FOB-KEY-CHAIN-CRYSTAL-BLACK-DOG-/121005567749?pt=US_Women_s_Accessories&hash=item1c2c7e6f05

Thanks!!

It looks like the listings have been removed.

There are 3 just listed that include a heart, an apple and a dog but there's no mention in the listings of them being Coach items. If these are the ones you asked about they're completely legal the way they're now listed:

Hello! I found a bag I really liked the looks of and thought it might make a good rehab job. But upon closer inspection, I believe it's a fake....or something the likes I've never run across before. Too many number and no dash on the creed number....please confirm...because if by some chance it is real, I'm interested in it. Thank you!

Is that an "x" or a "k" in "wrinkles"? I can't tell for sure.

Thanks for you expert opinion Hyacinth.
I have another Devon bag that you authenticated for me in post #1875. I didn't show the inside of that bag so I will include a picture of how it looks compared to this last bag. I didn't notice before, but both have the excess leather in that area. I guess the reason it was so noticeable on this bag is because it it's no longer glued down like it is in the first bag! I should have looked BEFORE I asked! :-/

Both bags:

My first one - excess leather glued down

The last one - excess leather has come un-glued

Whew! Scared me for a minute! LOL! It is in fact a "K" but the lighting (used the flash) sure did make it look like an X. Thanks for noticing because if it had been an ”X” - I would have missed it!! :-)

I hesitated to bring it up...but I kept staring at it and couldn't tell from the picture-thought it was better to be safe! I seem to remember that the ones that have the "x" have another misspelled word in the creed too.

I'm not completely familiar with this style but that creed glitch is seen on some authentic bags. Wait for confirmation on authenticity.

I'm glad you did mention it. I always try to look the creed over but I may well have missed an X there. You helped remind me to stay on my toes a little better! :-)

Yep, those were the ones, originally listed as Coach brand... Didn't think they were, so glad the listings are accurate now. Thanks so much for your reply, Hyacinth!

That extra number happened sometimes in some vintage bags. There's nothing wrong with it.

Be aware that it's a briefcase, not a handbag, the measurements are 17x11 inches. It was called a Shoulder Brief, style # 5230 and was probably made in the late 1980s.

The Salearea Guide on Coach Authenticity Guides - Facts and Myths should mention that sometimes an extra number could be stamped. If you're into older Coaches I recommend reading and Bookmarking the Guides.

Thank you Hyacinth! I have read the creed articles put on eBay by salearea and she credited you for. I had never seen a bag like that or the creed either so I got kind of leery of it. I am finding that I am now hooked on the vintage stuff. I did notice it was quite large and was thinking perhaps for traveling, books, iPad and the like? I will check out the links and see if I have read them yet. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me and others on here!

FAKE. There's no such style as 3906 - that bag is copying a completely different style number. The lining is wrong for that type of leather, the creed stamping is completely wrong and I wish I could read it because it doesn't even seem as if the wording is correct either, and if you check my Fake Coach Serial Numbers List posted here you'll find the serial number in the first section under "Always Fake": "A5B-3906 - fake Sonoma Double Zip Bags".
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-sh...enticity-questions-94198-37.html#post18503288

Although this isn't a Double Zip, it's still a fake Sonoma bag. That serial number is fake no matter what kind of purse it's in. If there's any way to report fakes at that Facebook page, please do.

Thank's for posting the link to your list, I hadn't seen it yet.:smile1:
