The first three are ok.
Why were we unable to give an answer on the Duffle Sac? Was that the one where someone asked why it didn't have a zipper on the inside pocket? If so, I still don't have an answer and someone who's familiar with early versions of that style needs to take a look, both at the pocket and at the top zipper, which seems similar to many other vintage Duffle Sacs. Again, wait for an expert.

It seems to be a genuine Stewardess Bag. If you search the main Coach forum for "Stewardess" you'll find a ton of information on the style.

Thank you so much Hyacinth. Am I correct that it was probably made around 1999? I have a vintage (early to mid 80’s) Stewardess that you authenticated for me a couple weeks ago. I notice quite a difference in weight and thickness of the leather between this one and the vintage bag. That would be due to the age difference perhaps? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I'm still trying to learn about these wonderful older bags. :-)

For starters, when you ask for an authentication we always need to see a clear photo of the creed stamp and serial number, that's explained in the first post of this thread.

If the second half of the number is 99999, that means that if it's real, it was made as a sample or pilot bag and later versions may have had changes made so we have nothing to compare it to. In fact we don't even know for which genuine style number it's supposed to be a prototype. So no, it's really impossible to authenticate, sorry.

What exactly is a pilot bag??

It seems to be a Compartment Bag and even has an outlet stamp, but the stitching is pretty rough especially for a bag made in an established plant. It's probably genuine and possibly either a catalog exclusive or a bag made for the outlet, but it's the first one I've seen with contrast stitching, and with what seems to be slightly wobbly stitching too.

Thanks so much.

The pictures in the listing were bad, I kind of took a gamble on this one :thinkin: Have you seen that kind of zipper before?

Yes, that's the right year. And it's possible that they cut a few corners on the newer bag. It may even have been a "catalog only" style, I can't find much information on the remake.

It looks like a Talon zipper and I've seen similar zippers on vintage Coaches but maybe the name has worn off or maybe Coach was using a different brand. As I said, I don't have any personal experience with that style from that time period so maybe someone else can answer.

Similar to a sample, but one that's ready for production and is made in limited numbers and released to the retail stores to judge buyers' reactions to it and decide if it should go into full production.
