newer wallet styles aren't my area of expertise, such as it is... I think from what details I am seeing it is authentic but not sure. If there's a chance of someone knowing it's name and/or approx age I'd love to know. Thanks so much.

Genuine, and in very nice condition for a 10 year old wallet! I'm not sure of the exact style but I think it's a Hamptons Piped FramedWallet from 2002. I have a pic of it with a note "7850 - Polished Calfskin French Purse with Frame". I'm not sure which was right. Color was Turquoise/Parchment.

Can you check if this is authentic
Serial number is D0982-99999

You only have one photo? All I can see is one. Nothing can be authenticated with just a creed photo, especially since the style number 99999 is a generic number used in many of Coach's sample and pilot bags. And if it IS a sample or pilot, there's no way to know if it's real or just a clever fake since details often were changed before a pilot style went into production.

Thank you Hyacinth. It does. After I got your response I listed it on eBay. If you want to look at it, and do not still think it is authentic, I would like to know so I can remove it.

Hello, Hyacinth, or anyone else, did I do something wrong in posting a link to eBay? I haven't received an answer. If I am wrong to do this, please let me know. Otherwise, please let me know if this is Authentic. I did not list it until after Hyacinth told me it was most likely, but I couldn't get my pictures to show until I listed it.

awesome! I wasn't expecting such great information, and that's especially nice to know since I think it's never been used!! It still had the cardboard packing insert in the bill section!! Thanks so much!!

Not for older Coaches. I've never found any service that actually studied variations in the creeds and serial numbers like we do here. You're getting a free service here that you'd pay between 10 and 20 dollars for on the outside, and your chances of getting an accurate answer are a lot better here. And I'm sorry if this sounds arrogant, but there are very few people who understand enough about Coach serial numbers to make a valid judgement, and with that bag, the authentication hangs on the serial number stamping. Right now none of us knows if it's real or not because there aren't any KNOWN genuine ones exactly like that. If one or two turn up, then we have something to base an opinion on. There's a lot more to authenticating a Coach than just looking at one or two parts of the bag.

Sometimes all you can do is wait and hope that I get more information on that specific creed and serial stamping. If you own it and want to sell it, try to hang on to it for another 3 or 6 months and then ask me again. Meanwhile I'll try to find more with that same stamp.

EDITED TO ADD - I'm looking at these with the same prefix:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...5?pt=US_CSA_MWA_Backpacks&hash=item4d05dba2cf

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINT-VINTAG...235?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item2ebb55317b
and
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Class...429?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item255fc6f955

They all have the same prefix and all serial number stamping styles are identical. To me that's about a 90 percent chance that they're genuine. If I could find something like an Outlet stamp - normally those aren't solid proof since newer ones have been faked but in older bags they're more believable - that would make it about a 99 percent certainty in my mind.

More opinions are welcome.

Thanks for all the info. You're right. Those stamps look exactly like mine. I almost didn't bother posting mine because I noticed the difference, but then I figured I might as well.

I'm glad I did. So....it looks like that particular factory during that particular month made creeds that look like mine, is that the gist of it?

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I have to learn.

Thanks again, Hyacinth.

No, you said to let you know IF I didn't think it was authentic. I didn't think there was a problem so I didn't mention it. Maybe I took you too literally.

It's OK.

That's pretty much it. Every plant up until recently used their own individual creed stamps and plant X's stamp could be very different from plant Y's. We can't just look at the details of the bag, we have to figure out if the stamp is the one that was being used at that time and place. And there are no books and no guides to go by - every single creed and serial number design and font has to be analyzed and verified on its own by comparing it with identical styles or other numbers from the same plant, month and year.

That's why I said there are no simple answers and no one or two things that prove something's ok. And any "guide" that claims that all you have to do to figure out if a Coach is real is look for a YKK zipper or check if the stitching is straight is full of horse poop. That's why I'm so anti-Guide. Most of them are not just useless but they're just plain dangerous because they give buyers a false sense of security, and the doofuses who "write" them never use common sense, like stopping and thinking WHY "only genuine Coaches are allowed to have YKK zippers."

The details that prove authenticity are different for almost every single Coach product. And for serial numbers, with every style, plant, month and year.

Long time lurker, first time help-authenticator! Wondering if anyone can help me with these two bags that I purchased without thinking to ask for help. One I believe to be a Prairie Bag (AC5-9954), and the other a possible Court (K4C-9870). Here's hoping I don't have to send any angry emails! Thanks!
