I think this is my first post ever on a board, but I've been following TPF for quite awhile, and am building my Coach collection back up after scaling it down. Thank you in advance for your time.

Item: Coach Sydney Lizard Embossed Exotic - Used
Listing number:181000029423

Comments: She doesn't list the condition of the bag or show pictures of the creed, but lists the creed as J0968-14615. I've looked at some similar listings for this Sydney, and they have an H instead of a J.

Thanks again!

Read the Salearea Guides to learn how to read a creed. The first letter just means the month the bag was made. http://reviews.ebay.com/Coach-Creeds-the-Basic-Facts?ugid=10000000030821024
I'm not familiar enough with this style to authenticate it.

We need more pictures of the inside. I can't even tell what style it is - is it supposed to be a Checkbook wallet?. Also please show any labels that are on the box, and if there is a clear plastic ID window, please show a picture of that too. We could use a picture of each face of the wallet from slightly farther away. And if possible more lighting would help, if there's a Signature C pattern I can't even see it.

My first instinct is that it's fake but I need more pictures to confirm. BTW, A zipper stamped YKK doen't prove anything about authenticity.

Sorry, I'm only using a cameraphone. It's a hampton slim wallet. The seller said it was a store display. Hope this is better!

Sorry, I'm almost 100 percent sure it's fake. Coach wallets don't come with boxes that have the name and style number on a label, even when you buy them in a full-price store. This one's label, unabbreviated, reads "Hamptons Signature FRAMED Slim Envelope". A "framed" wallet is one where there's a metal frame around the coin pocket, usually with a kisslock on top instead of a zipper. There are several other red flags but those are the main problems. Did the seller tell you what store it was displayed at, and when?

The only other place I can find this wallet even on Google is one fakes-selling site that steals Coach's photos illegally so buyers think they're getting the real thing. But dig a bit deeper into their site and you can find photos of obvious fakes. They show the same style number and same style as yours and theirs isn't a FRAMED wallet either. BTW, this particlar style hasn't even been made for probably 6 or 7 years so the chances that even a legitimate site would still have one in stock are pretty slim.

This should be a photo of the genuine style - notice the kisslock.

Sorry, fake. The leather trim by the turnlock is wrong, the ends of the wooden dowel are just painted instaed of being covered in matching leather, and the serial number is a known fake that's listed both here at my Fakes list and at Daria48's list posted at Ebay:

Hyacinth's tPF Fakes List:

And if you read the creed stamp carefully, the word "scratches" is missing the letter "a".

Contact the seller and insist on a full refund if you just bought it recently. And save the links to the Fakes Lists.

Thanks so much!!!

I agree on the wallet. I have the same opinion. The font also looks wrong on the underneath of the snap. Wallets are hard to authenticate and that style was highly faked.
