Thanks for trying, but that doesn't work either.

Sorry I can't help. There aren't any visible details that are raising red flags, but the seller's insisitence that the lining is black is a problem. Here's what the lining and creed of that bag are supposed to look like. Maybe someone who has one can verify the lining color?:

The first three are OK. The third looks like a Madison Satchel Spectator #6765 from around 1988-89.

The fourth is fake, sorry. See the Salearea Guides, the "Bean Bags" are mentioned in several of them and in my Fakes List posted here at tPF. Yours is one of the very accurate fakes, but the stitching looks very slightly off in the photos. If you have another Companion Bag, compare the two.

It IS a horrible fake. None of the patches are genuine Coach patterns, there aren;t any appliqued flowers, the pocket patch is wrong, the zipper color is wrong, and that cheap printed C lining especially inside a bag that's mostly Cs on the outside is always fake. There's NOTHING right about that one.

:blushing: I missed that one. Thank you for taking a look at them. Going to have to read those guides a million times so I can burn that information into my mind!

She exagerates the costs in her titles to make it sound like the buyer is getting a deal. Some of the briefcase sellers dye their bags. Anytime you are buying a briefcase ask the seller about dyeing their bags. Great Metropolitan Briefs in nice condition command high prices but you want to know you are getting a virgin (non-dyed) bag that (in the case of Metropolitan bags) still maintains it's shape.
