Haven't been on here for quite awhile, nor have I been to a Coach store for a long time, so I apologize if this is a stupid question, but,
Do Coach bags come in plastic now? I saw a photo of a swing bag, proudly displayed with the plastic coach bag with a sticker on it. She says original retail is $150. Not something I plan to buy but curious. Thanks!

When items are ordered from Coach's website or from the Coach Factory private sales they're usually shipped in plastic bags with labels showing the style, color and UPC codes like the one on the photo. I don't see any problems with the details.

Of course, those bags and labels can also be faked so it's always a good idea to have the items authenticated.

I'd appreciate your help in authenticating this bag.

Seller says this bag was made while Bonnie Cashin was still with Coach but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if that's true...and yes, I am reading and studying all the links you post for us to educate ourselves about Coach bags.

Thanks so much.

In general, the more things that are stamped inside the bag, the less likely it is that it was made while Bonnie Cashin worked for Coach. It's pretty well agreed that Coach didn't start using stamped creeds, followed by creeds with serial numbers, until maybe the mid or late 1970s. Cashin left Coach in 1974, and many but not all of the styles she did for them had her signature lining or label in them, not the later Coach creed stamp.

If anyone knows verifiable information that contradicts or adds to that, please feel free to post it.

The red bag in that listing was called a Riding Bag, and it appears in my 1987 Coach catalog, but NOT in the 1986 edition, nor in any earlier editions including 1985, 1983, 1982, 1981 or 1976.. So the chances of it having been made during the Cashin era are Zip, Zero, Zilch. Never take a seller's word on details like that without verifying it through a reliable source.

And indeed, that's just what I did. ;) Thank you so much.

Help please? Thanks in advance, as always! :-)
