A friend's mom bought a couple bags from someone and I told her I think they are fake. The serial numbers are:

J04U-9382
J3J-6818

I looked them up and something completely different came up than what she has.

We ALWAYS need to see photos, but the second number has been used in a LOT of fakes. Looking up a number on the internet doesn't prove much, how do you know whether what you find on the internet is real or fake?. Don't ever depend on that for authenticating ANYTHING.

Hi - This is another Coach bag from the large lot that I purchased from a lady going out of business. Please authenticate. Thanks so much.

OK - thanks. Maybe I'll try eBay's forum to see if they can do it. Thanks anyway. I really appreciate all you guys do.

That was going to be my next suggestion. There are a few sellers there familiar with recent styles.

This is way fake, right?

This is the only pic I have. I've never seen that horse and carriage logo on a real Coach before.

EDITED : Never mind. My friend just bought it for a $100.

You are correct - it's an absolute fake.

If you bought it on ebay - open a dispute.

If you bought it elsewhere - return it and tell the seller it's against FEDERAL law to sell counterfeits.

Your friend just got ripped off for a hundred bucks. Coach has never made a Horse & Carriage emblem that looks like that. That bag is a piece of junk, even the C pattern isn't centered correctly. And Coach usually managed to sew their zippers in so that they don't look like a profile of the Ozarks.

I hope she can get her money back. If she bought it on Ebay, please post the link or the seller's name if you have it.

Coach has NEVER used that hideous lining in anything they made. And there are only five numbers in the serial number???

Please do some reading about how to look for signs of fakes before buying any more "Coaches" - that bag has more red flags than a World Cup match.
