:heart:To the incomparable Hyacinth and DemRam, and the stellar NoShoePolish, Submarine and ItGirl: You can not be told enough, especially since BB can not assist in the authentications at the moment, that we appreciate you all and understand that you are doing this with no compensation other than our appreciation. Know that we are behind you all. XOXO

I agree...well said!

Hi, my first time here in the autenticating thread
Is this item genuine?
I can't copy & paste the photos here.

It seems to be ok. There have been very accurate fakes of other similar styles, so better photos would have been a big help. But what is in the photos looks real as long as you get exactly the same bag as the one in the photos. Please check it over very carefully when you receive it.,

Item: Burgundy (Spectator?) Checkbook Wallet
Seller: Savers, $3.74 after discounts

Comments: I must be looking for punishment! This wallet is in TERRIBLE condition. It is water-damaged, warped, and it reeks of mold and mildew! The plastic ID window is ripped and the khaki sig lining has turned green is some sections!

I felt sorry for the poor thing and it was only $3.75, so I decided to see if I could do anything with it, but it may be a lost cause.

Please authenticate, thank you.

I know that wallets are very difficult to identify but if you have any ideas about the age or style please let me know, thanks again.

Wow! You're a lot braver than I'd ever be!

I'm sure it's genuine but can't find any photos - looks like it would have been made some time between 2003 to 2005. It might be from the Legacy Spectator line but that's just a wild guess.

Good luck!

Item: Brown Whipstitch Shoulder Bag 9467 (Made in Turkey, 2000)
Seller: Savers $12.75
Dimensions: 7.5” high, 13” wide, and 3” deep

Comments: Today was 25% off day at Savers so I couldn’t stay away! This weekend at the outlet I was admiring the new Poppy Whipstitch bags and so I was surprised and pleased to find this pretty, older whipstitch style today.

Please authenticate and let me know any info you have about this bag. The pictures aren’t great so I can take more if you need them. Thanks for your help!

I found this completed auction on ebay for the bag in a different color:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...6AOHFhDZiLRYlipNNi7nQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

The style was called a West End medium Hobo. There aren't any photos of that exact one in my files but the West End line had other similar styles in different leathers and sizes. I've included a few pictures from the Wayback Machine of other styles.

Comments:

Are the above bags authentic? Thank you:)

All of them look ok, as long as you remember that the first seller's Gallery pics are "borrowed" and not the actual bag.

Thanks very much! And a HUGE thanks to it.girl who jumped into the fray and did a GREAT job, especially yesterday when she handled a deluge of questions! Hopefully she's catching her breath a bit this morning! :ty:

I'm sure everyone else appreciates the thanks and good thoughts too, especially BeenBurned. No, she's not sick, just taking some time off to concentrate on "other matters" which I'm sure most of you are familiar with. It's upsetting to all of us that someone who's given so unselfishly of her time and her knowledge to the members here and at other boards and who has saved hundreds, if not thousands, of potential buyers from being cheated out of their hard-earned money, has to suffer this kind of baseless persecution by someone who, in my opinion and from all the evidence I've seen, has no qualms whatsoever about breaking the rules AND the law just to make an extra buck.

And if any of you would like to help BeenBurned in a more tangible way, a defense fund has been set up for her to accept contributions through Paypal. She's NOT a rich woman by any means and like all of us, the recent economy has done some serious damage, and lawyers are still very expensive. If you can help out with any contribution no matter how large or small, please send a Paypal payment to:
[email protected]

Thanks to you all! Fingers crossed that BB can get through.

Thanks so much! My bag is made of calf and it is very soft and light-weight; it reminds me of my lamb nappa bag. Very pretty, thanks again!

Or maybe I am just dumber than you would ever be!

Right now I am asking myself if it is worth even trying to rehabilitate this poor wallet. Thanks to you, if I do attempt it at least I know that it is genuine!
