Thanks! It was called a Quincey Bag, style number 9919, from 1993. It's genuine.

Serial numbers in genuine bags from 1994 or later will always start with a letter of the alphabet, which indicates what month the item was made. Bags or items made before 1994 didn't use any kind of production codes.

Fabulous! One more year to go before it becomes vintage, yay!!!:roflmfao:

DId you determine the year 1993 because that was the only year Quincey was made? How do we determine the year of manufacture based on the numbers?

Thanks so much!!!

Can you please authenticate this Coach Leatherware Bag?
Been in my collection since 2006, but I don't remember how much I paid, or where she came from!
Approx. 11"w x 8"h x 4"d Strap drop 24"
Is it an Oliver Bag #9902? Can you approximate age?
Thanks in advance for the always-valuable information!

Yes it is, and just about 20 years old. I think they may have only been made in 1992 and 1993.

Exactly. It wasn't in my late 1992 catalog so it must have been introduced in 1993. If it has been newer it would have had a new-style serial number.

With the all-number serials you have to guestimate the year by studying the creed stamping, format of the serial number, and where the creed stamp says the bag was made. The older the bag is, the harder it is to estimate a date.

Very complicated is Coach's practice! So the year-coding system where second number of the first set only starts after 1994 it seems?

I have 2 bags with the following numbers: 0221-323 and 0204-350 . First is the Willis bag without the wood rod, second is the Court bag. Is it possible to estmate the year of their manufacturing date?

Thanks!!!

No. The serial numbers weren't used in sequence so some of the lowest numbers can actually be on the newest bags. Just the numbers don't tell us a thing - unless they're known fakes, of course.
