It's definitely FAKE. The letter S is not a legitimate month code. Wait for other comments on the letter "T" as a plant code.

Style 5130 IS for the Station Bag and has NEVER belonged to a Court bag.

Classic Coach bags have been "faked" for years and years!

Please let us know where you bought it. Post a link or an auction number.

Thank you so much! I returned the bag for a full refund with no problems. I am hesitant to post the name of the seller, because she was so apologetic and seemed to have no idea the bag was fake. She doesn't have a lot of Coach for sale and her feedback is impeccable, so I would like to think this is an isolated incident.

Thank you again DemRam and Hyancinth - I am a recent vintage Coach collector and your knowledge has proved to be invaluable!

In a panic - bought this "100% authentic" Court bag online and when it arrived, it seems to be a fake! The serial number is S3T-5130. If I'm not mistaken, the serial number for Court is 9870 and 5130 is for the Station, right? The leather seems genuine, but the strap isn't adjustable like other Courts I have seen.

Sorry if I seem stupid, but I am new to all of this - I never dreamed that someone would fake a vintage Coach! Here are pictures:

The leather feels like my other vintage Coach bags but the errant serial number makes me worry that this one is fake - or even some kind of "Franken-bag" made of peices of old Coach bags!

Thanks in advance.

There are more fake classic and even vintage Coaches than most buyers could possibly imagine (probably 5 to 10 percent of the pre-2000 Coach bags on Ebay are possible or definite fakes, and the percentage goes even higher when the bags are from estate sales, garage sales, etc), and most times the only red flags are problems with the creed stamps and serial numbers. It's very important to have someone look at them who is familiar with those bags and especially those details.

Many of the fakes used identical hardware and high-quality leathers, especially the fakes from Korea. And most aren't patched together from old bags, they were specifically made as fakes. There are some very good Guides at Salearea's Coach Guides page at Ebay, read them and save the links and you'll have a very good start at a reference library. Save either my Fakes list posted here at tPF or Daria48's list at Ebay too, they're similar and accurate.

I'm glad your seller refunded you. I hope she also refunded your return shipping and won't relist the bag.

Note that the serial number has shown up on other fakes in the past: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-577470-141.html#post15534725

Thank you BeenBurned for teaching me how to do the link. Hoo-ray!!

Thank you Hyacinth for the authentication of the bag.
You're welcome.

It may be authentic but it's impossible to say for sure since the seller doesn't show any photos of the inside or the creed patch. She only lists the serial number and country where it was made and while the two agree with each other, actually seeing the creed stamp itself is the best proof.

I don't see any problem areas but more photos would help.

I finally got the purse yesterday. It looks real but the leather feels a little different than some of the other purses I have.

Please advice.

Thank you
