...Gray willis, pretty good condition, though it came with no strap. Bummer as I have no gray staps that would work with this.. ~$10

Has the right pockets..

slightly worried by the overstamping.. I've seen fake overstamping, and this doesn't look too bad, but I need verification :p

Gray vintage bags are pretty scarce so an authentic gray Willis in good shape for $10 would be a nice find! I hope that it is genuine!

It's a shame that it's missing the strap but you might get lucky and find another gray bag with silver hardware that has a detactable strap so it could do "double duty" and also be used with the Willis.

I recently picked up a gray Court bag (for $3!) and I think that strap would probably go well with a gray Willis. Of course the Court has a dogleash strap and the Willis comes with a trigger snap but it wouldn't really matter.

Here are before pics of my gray Court so you can see that it might match okay:

You got some nice bags!

And onto the more iffy ones that I'm worried about.

~$15 Station Bag, which I thought was blue, but was told is black.. We'll see after rehab?
Has that front pocket, and creed on inside flap pocket. Measured ~9" x 9" x 2", though I would have sworn it does not look like a square but a rectangle.. Slightly concerned that it's made in the US, but has "L" factory code. Haven't seen that combination before..

And ~$8 Janice's Legacy? The dimensions don't seem to match what's on the website - I can get ~10" x 10" if I measure the widest part (strap buckle to strap buckle) to tallest points (bottom to top of strap buckle), but only 8" long at the bottom, and 9" at midpoint. Around 6 3/4" tall at the center. About 4" deep at the bottom. Creed on inside flap pocket.

They both look ok.

"L" was a valid US plant code used only for a short time, then re-used a few years later.

Navy blue Basic Bag? Also approx 11" x 7" x 2", one main compartment with creed with lost serial number? on flap pocket inside. ~$13 - no strap

Yes, the first one looks like a Basic Bag. The original strap would have been the early double tubular style, just like the genuine one in your post before this.

The Willis is fine, that one was actually made for the 1999 selling year.

They both look ok.
Thank you yet again, Hyacinth! I learn something new every day :smile1:

Thanks, katev! I'm thrilled that it's genuine. You're right, I did think about appropriating a removable strap from another bag, but the only other gray I have is that basic bag, and that's a very different looking strap. I'll be on the lookout now :) I'm really excited about all the bags I've gotten, and I really need to slow down with the acquisition... I'm placing a stricter limit on my purchases now - 15 tops, preferably 10 and below, without rips/tears. There was an $8 legacy zip today, but it had piping damage.. boo. But yes, I got quite a good haul this time around :D
