Can anyone tell me if this is authentic, I have looked online and ebay and is see this bag with suffix IR5656, mine has just 5656. everything looks good except the number ( the charms were added after I got it )
Thanks:smile1:

The bag is authentic. It's a hamptons tote.

I'm pretty sure that the keychain attached to it (not the hangtag) is fake.

And Bag 3!

Actually here's the entire album since some of the pictures don't show up right

I don't see any problems with it. It's very probable that the long strap may be a replacement but that's not unusual with older Coaches.

There's a current Ebay listing here from a highly Trusted Seller and acknowledged Coach expert of an unused bag from the same month and year, September 1994, if you want to compare the two.

Comment: I'm new to the world of bags and I really don't know what I should look for. Please help me out. Thank you very much and happy holidays.

It looks good.
Thank you very much. I have been worried about this bag. Just 1 question, what do you think about the front pic? The "C's" aren't really symmetrical.

Actually this is the photo album on Facebook, not sure if you can view it

The facebook isn't showing up. As for the drilldown, Coach made it so it's no longer viewable. Understand that the even if the picture matched a style of bag, it didn't necessarily mean that the bag was authentic. Fakers can and do put legitimate serial numbers on fakes.

I don't see any problems.

Item: Small hobo 7406, made in China in 2000
Pale blue twill with black leather trim and hematite-colored hardware
Dimensions: 13.5” wide, 4” deep, 7” high
Seller: Savers $25

Comments: I went ahead and bought this bag (even though it was above my usual price for a rehab project) because it was such a finely detailed, pretty little purse! I was a bit nervous about it because it has the word “Coach” written all over the place! It’s on the lining, on the buckle, on the bottom, on the side, and of course on the creed patch and the hangtag!

I kept remembering Hyacinth saying “The more a bag is stamped ‘Coach’ the more likely it is a fake!” But then I also remembered Hyacinth saying “But if there is one thing you can count with Coach, it’s that there is an exception to every rule!”

At first I was reassured to see that it had an old Coach registration card inside, but then that little Hyacinth voice in my head said “Anything can be faked! What, you don’t think they could fake a paper card?!”

But I couldn’t imagine that this was the type of bag that was likely to be widely faked. It's just too special. Also, the unusual hangtag looks exactly the same as the hangtag on my Gramercy Zip, except this one is dark gray.

Savers sold it “as is” (because there are some faint stains on the back) so I can’t exchange it. Please give me your opinion on authenticity and end my suspense, thank you!

Below are some pics and I will post more in the next message. It looks gray or off-white in my photos but it is actually a very pretty shade of pale blue. Thank you!

More pics of the little blue hobo. If it is real, do you know what material it is made of? I looked up "twill" and it is a type of weave that can be used with many fabrics! Thanks again!

I am so happy! I only paid 30 for the bag! Thank you for squashing my suspicions! :)

Really? WOW! I was getting thrown off by the beginning of the serial saying N2 instead on No. Like (number), and the tag had no stitching around the outside and is just raw edged...but if you think it's real I'm getting it. That's fantastic. Thank you so much for your help.

It's a genuine Mercer Zip from 2000. The "i" month code is unusual but since that plant had probably just recently started production, I don't think it's a problem. And yes, sometimes Coach DID carve their names into every piece of hardware on the bag, I recently looked at a genuine bag from their Business and Travel line that has every piece of hardware stamped including the tops of the rivets.

As for the fabric, Coach never really describes their fabrics and contents. The catalog just calls it "European twill" but it feels like a nylon fabric to me.
