(i'm assuming the one i have is in fact authentic!) at least now i know the name of the bag.The lining looks wrong. This is the way the lining should look in a Lexington bag. Black on black is hard to see, but notice the word Coach inside the plaque.
Wait for other opinions, but I don't think it's right.

you're right, the lining does look different, although hard to say with the photos. i may have hit my first real fake, oh well. do the sellers usually know what they're doing in a case like this?

I'm not feeling comfortable with this listing but it could be the pictures and angles.
Please request additional pictures of the clip on the shoulder strap and a clear and legible straight-on closeup of the creed.

No, you needn't pay. Let the seller know that the bag has been deemed fake (and refer her here if necessary) and you don't intend to pay for a fake.
Let her know that she was obligated to authenticate and verify that her listing was authentic, something she clearly didn't do. Request that she cancel the transaction and dispose of the bag.
thank you so much for the advice. i have sent her an email, and will be curious to see if she can send me clear pics of the lining. i was so stuck on the questionable creed number that i didn't even think about the lining, since most of my bags are really 'vintage' with no lining at all!!

I agree with BeenBurned. You don't need to pay for a fake. Just send the seller here to this post and ask if the lining looks like this picture, which is slightly better than my original photo.
If the lining is flat black fabric without a slight sheen and without "Coach" woven into the fabric then it's NOT authentic.
I don't think the seller deliberately listed a fake, but it's important to get all bags authenticated if you don't know for sure, as in "you didn't buy it from Coach".

It's a genuine Bucket Bag from the Lightweights line made in the late 1980s or early 1990s. There were two different sizes and I'm not sure which size this is.
