OMG...I think I am becoming obsessed.
I found the bag in my sig as a "Coach Classic" reinvent on Coach.com. I only have one "older" bag that I got from a antique shop, but this satchel literally made me gasp. I have been hunting for a white bag and this is perfect.
But the price ($358) is definitely definitely definitely out of my price range right now. So I have been trying to find an original that looks similar on Ebay and Etsy.
I stumbled upon the beauty listed below, and have been looking at the pics for well over an hour now...scrutinizing and falling in love. For all I know, it's not the same exact bag as the one in my sig, but I think I prefer the one in the auction more. Problem is...finding a vintage (is it really vintage?) white colored bag in great shape such as this will be very difficult.

This is completely new territory for me, almost like a new brand, so any advice is helpful.
First, is this fabulous awesome fantastic gorgeous lovely authentic?

Comments: Man, I LOVE this bag. It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Instead of shelling out big bucks for one made in China...having one made in the USA would be a dream (I actually prefer my LV's to be made in USA). Can anyone give me advice on keywords to search for on auction sites to see more of these?

Many, many thanks in advance!

The bag in the auction is the "Beaumont Satchel" which is style 9871. That one appears to be from 1999. Two very similar style bags I can think of are 9725 (Madison Satchel)) and 9891 (Broadway Satchel).

If you do an advanced ebay Search and include "Title and Description", there are 6 style 9871 listed now, though only one in a light color.

If you use words like "Coach vintage doctor's satchel" or "Coach Vintage Speedy Satchel" you might find others listed. Those Coach satchels are listed incorrectly all the time and there were many similar satchels made over the years.

I posted this in the I.D. thread, because I'm not sure of the name. BUT someone said I might want to post here because it says "bean bag" on the creed and could possibly be a fake. Any info or ideas? TIA

Thanks Hyacinth! I replied to your post in the ID thread.

Yes, I saw that.

The "Station Bag" is another one of those scary-good fakes we've seen lately with the Bean Bag creed, and both were Spectator styles. That's why seeing a photo of the creed and serial is so neccessary before buying or bidding on any vintage-looking bag.

It looks ok to me.

Most Coach styles are made in China (as well as India and Vietnam) and by law have to have some kind of tag showing the country of manufacture.

Thank you for all of the info! I will think about this one some more and keep hunting.
One more quick question...
If this was made in 1999, when exactly did Coach start making bags in China? 99 was not that long ago.
Thanks again for all of your help!

Coach had a pilot plant in China as early as 1996, at least that's the earliest one I can remember finding. Major production there began in 1999.

There is one more style I am interested in. My little older bag looks similar to this, although not as large and wide. This is a great size, and a great price...but the hardware seems very shiny to me...which is raising a red flag. it doesn't look right, IMO, but like I said I know nothing about older bags, LOL! It's just a feeling.

I like the size of this one. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks loves! :D

Unless it's been wrapped and stored in a box for 15 years, the odds are that an older white bag may have had some retouching especially if the brassware has apparently been repolished. That's why many of us avoid light-colored bags - in fact I really don't have enough experience with them to be giving advice so I'll just say "more opinions please".

I only own 1 white Coach bag and it's from 1998. I've never had any problem with it and it still looks great...mainly because I don't use it very often. I just clean and condition with Apple products and store it away.

I'm not sure if it's my monitor or not, but do I see what looks like yellowing in the 4th picture down?

If you are really interested, I would definitely ask if any products have been used to change or enhance the color, and if the color is consistent overall.
