hmmm. This is from someone who has never sold any Coach items. IMO, that's tacky to sell them! They look okay but I suspect an employee friend.

SHe has another ID on which she's selling them too, jessecar201. Personally, I wouldn't buy from sinful526 or jessecar201.

Check out these ended listings for 400 of them from jessecar201:

WOW, unbelievable.

Thanks BB.

What I'm seeing looks like the "No" followed by an N9and then what looks like a C. The serial number is seriously off-center which is hard to explain if it actually came from the "C" plant which was in the US and had been running for at least 10 years if you assume that the codes are valid. But that first digit "N" should never have been used as a year code by one of the US plants especially one where the employees had so much experience.

The serial and creed stamping also looks uneven - it might just have worn unevenly but the left side of the creed stamp is a lot deeper than the right side. The style number might be 9144 which would match with the style which is supposed to be a Legacy Studio Flap but the serial number is a problem.

I can't offer more proof but weighing the evidence my instincts say fake, sorry.

Thanks, Hyacinth, for the reply! I only carried the bag a few times and I'm not sure how long the lady who gave it to me had it. I had a bunch of stuff in it while it hang in my closet but I'm not sure if that, or the prior owner's use, caused the wear. I did read the guide here on the forum & saw that the an N is not supposed to be the lead letter (A-M only, no i) but in the very rare occasion it did appear. I'm hoping it is because I only have one other authentic Coach, but this would be my only "vintage" or "classic". Do you think calling Coach would be a good idea? Thanks again!

Calling Coach is next to useless. Their employees have no experience or training in spotting fakes, and their computer systems don't even include any information on serial number prefixes, nor does anyone from Coach remember production codes from 12 years ago. The same holds for Coach store employees.

This forum and others are loaded with posts about both real and fake Coach items that were misidentified or incorrectly authenticated by Coach employees - don't EVER depend on them.

Wow! Well I'm glad I came here! Thanks so much! Better safe than sorry!

tia! :)
There's no way to authenticate it because the only picture is a stock photo.

Although actual pictures should be shown of all items, wallets are highly faked. Without seeing the item, I can't recommend a seller who uses someone else's copyrighted material.
