Wait though. Has the buyer actually received the refund yet?? I personally would NOT destroy the bag first before a refund because if you destroy the bag somehow then the buyer could refuse the refund and you wouldn't have a case because you ruined the bag...
Then again maybe I read too many horror stories in the ebay thread...

I think it may be the horror stories in the ebay thread that make all of us nuts.

I believe the buyer and the seller can work this one out without drama! I hope so.

:smile1:

Yes, this seller was great and honest. We were in constant communication. I sent her the pictures after I removed the coach creed/pocket and she refunded the money. I will be leaving her positive feedback as soon as paypal releases the money (they like to hold it a few days). She also liked the idea of donating it now that it doesn't have any Coach markings.

Great news! There are still many honorable sellers on ebay. (There's also a "new breed" of scammer now, and those bad ones were very rare back in the late 90's when I first joined). You just really have to be extra, super careful who you deal with.

So glad it worked out!

Wallets are almost impossible to authenticate unless they have obvious mistakes. Sometimes the best thing to do is bid (always use a credit card through Paypal) and send photos when you receive it if something doesn't look or feel right. The rest of the seller's listings look ok.

Thank you so much! I bought the wallet, keeping my fingers crossed that it will be ok..

Item: COACH GALLERY LUNCH TOTE PURSE F 11396
Listing number: 230650020240
Seller: balooo1
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/AUTHENTIC-COACH...240?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item35b3d00190
Comments: I googled the style number and did see a couple of other bags in this style. Personally, it looks good to me, but I want to check here before bidding anyway, since I'm not an expert by any means (and you ladies have helped me so much). The auction ends very soon.

Also, I wanted to add a note thanking Hyacinth for her guidance on finding a bag for school. I ended up stopping by a factory store over the weekend and picked up a huge tote bag.

Thank you very much for your help! I'm bothered by the online authencity guides as they all proclaim any Coach with the signature lining is fake... gees. I didn't think I bought a fake from the outlet!

(SIGH) That's what happens when people believe all the nonsense they read in badly written and completely UN-researched online "authenticity guides". The writers of those piles of electronic trash should be hit with a class-action lawsuit for "pain and suffering" by all the thousands of people they've lied to and misled over the years.

Your bag is a perfectly genuine Hamptons Pebbled Leather Carryall from 2004.

The ONLY Coach bags that shouldn't have a C pattern or Coach Logo lining are the ones where most or all of the OUTER fabric consists of Signature, Op Art, Logo, or any other kind of C or trademark logo fabric. Tell your friend to stop believing everything she reads on the internet.

that's good to hear!

Hi! can anyone authenticate this bag, please?

I actually purchased it at my mom's friend yard sale about two years. I've purchased many authentic coach bags from her and love them. She always tells me that her bags are authentic and I'd believe her but I'm starting to have my doubts. I was going to sell the Coach scribble bag I purchased from her and another one I purchased myself on my mom's eBay account as an as is lot b/c they are dirty (I'm starting college soon, hopefully, and I want to have some money lol) . Before listing them I wanted to make double sure they were authentic. The small bag def. is but when I searched for the scribble bag's serial # it didn't show up. Eventually, I was able to find it but the number is 5657, mines is 5658. -_- Please let me know if it's authentic or not as I do not want to sell fake merchandise. I'll just throw it away if it's not auth.

Thanks!

It's completely authentic - just because you can't find the serial number of a seven year old purse doesn't mean it's fake! Don't EVER depend on the internet to authenticate handbags for you.

5657 is the Small Scribble Hobo and 5758 is the standard (medium) size. The sizes of the Cs are different on the 2 styles - see Coach's pics below for 5657 and 5658
