I'm asking for assistance on a couple of bags. (Buyer got bad info from a Coach SA...imagine that!!!)

I know the year, but I don't know the NAME.

Thanks in advance.:D

I'm showing it as a Medium Slim Duffle Sac, according to page 37 of Coach's Fall 2002 catalog.

Sheesh, is there ANY SA who can recognise a real Coach when she sees one??? :lecture:

The seller's pictures are too blurry and have too much glare from the flash to see much.

Please request more pictures of the front plaque, handles, hardware, sides, interior and creed. Ask her to try to get clear macro shots without flash/glare.

Thank you..I clicked on the picture slide show which took me to her photo bucket. There were lots of up close pics there. Thank you for your time. :)

And I have one more here that I need help. Thanks a lot in advance!!
I think it is in great condition. But when I checked the seller's history, all of his Coach vintage bags (Court, Willis etc) are black leather, from 1980s and in very similar excellent condition. That weirdly makes me a little hesitate.

Item:Vintage Coach Court bag- black, handcrafted in USA
Comments: It is stated to be from 1980s. The original strap is missing and is replaced with other strap with silver tone hardware.

Oh BLAST. I had a 4-paragraph post almost done and lost it.

The essence:

The seller doesn't even know how to date a Coach, the bag is from 1996, NOT the 1980s.
Sellers who only deal in 2 or 3 basic colors often redye their bags. The finish on this one looks totally fake and even the leather texture looks wrong.

Please use the format posted on page 1, post 1 of this thread when asking for authentication, it gives us a chance to analyze the seller as well as the Coach.

(Sigh) There was a lot more but this will have to do for now. Personally I would NOT bid on that bag. Coach leather isn't supposed to look that shiny.

Oh yeah - To replace the strap will cost about 30 or 40 dollars if you get it from a reputable seller like Silver-Coach on Ebay or Bonanza but the one on there now looks bad and the clips are ridiculously small for the size of the bag. You need to factor that into your cost too.

Thank you so much for your reply! I agree with you, the color and shine are different from all the other bags I saw online. I thought it was just differed by how the pictures were taken. Never thought of redye. Thanks a lot! Will pass this one.

If you have time, would you please also take a look at the other two I'm asking at #14920? As you can tell, I'm a little bit obsessed now in vintage coach court bag and want to get one asap. Thanks a lot!!!:smile1::smile1:

I'm posting the info in the required format of this questionable bag here again.

Thanks a lot!

They both seem ok. Obviously the first one is also a Court Bag, and the second one has a replacement hangtag.

Thanks - most of her bags seem to be Dooneys but she has a Patricia's Legacy listed and if the serial number was copied correctly that bag is counterfeit. The creed is barely legible but it doesn't look as if she mis-copied the serial number, the hyphen is not where it should be. That bag is NOT a Patricia's Legacy or even a genuine Coach, several important details are wrong. And Patricia's Legacy Bags were not even made in the late 1970s.

There's NO way I'd buy from that seller.

(Her other Coaches may be ok but she consistently mis-identifies the year as "1980s" for bags made in the mid-1990s and even early 2000s).

Thanks! From the seller's feedback history, he sold many Coach court and willis, and many other styles I don't know the name. All the court bags he sold looks exactly the same to me. Almost all of the reviews said that the bag is like "unused".

Thanks again! I'm so glad that I come to this forum first!!

Hmm. Re the Dooneys, she mixes.

In fact, she has a fake described as "Dooney inspired" so she knows what she's doing.

And the Patricia legacy bag which Hyacinth referred definitely has the serial number copied correctly: 22096-08 as seen on the creed:

Depending how you feel about "treated" bags, you might also want to take into consideration that the seller appears to polish or treat her bags. Many of the Coaches and Dooneys have glossiness that is not natural to the items.

to the experts out there, i need your opinion on this one. lots of thanks

Please wait for other opinions on this listing. It could be the angle of the picture but I'm a little bothered by the apparent crookedness of the horse and carriage plaque. It doesn't look level.
