oh one more question again.. (youre like grrrr...) but just wondering about the @ symbol on the top corner of the creed picture? thank you!!what does that mean

It's called a "bullet" and it indicates that the bag was purchased from the outlet.

I saw some at TJ Maxx that the creed had an "X". What does that indicate?

The "X" indicates that Coach liquidated the items to a discounter and lets Coach know that the buyer can't return it to Coach.

thats too bad it kind of ruins the bag :( i didnt know they did that now. it kind of turns me off :( I know its jsut on the creed but still

Why would that ruin the bag? I'd rather have an authentic bag that has a small mark on the creed and that I know is authentic than to buy a bag with a perfect (unbulleted and unmarked) creed but have it be fake.

It's on the inside where no one can see it and only you know it's there.

I suppose if you prefer, you can go to the Coach full-price store and pay $398 for a bag that doesn't have an outlet bullet stamp. I prefer to get it at the outlet for well-under 1/2 price for the same thing.

Item: Carly in red leather

Comments: I read, from another seller trying to push an overpriced red Carly, that the Carly is highly faked. Is this true, an ulterior motive, or both? ;-) /// My concern is also caused by something that may actually be a quality control issue / misalignment flaw: left side of pic #2; the extra leather trim is misaligned. I don't usually see that from Coach and I have a Carly already. I may be a naiive dreamer but I'd hope Coach wouldn't make that! (Even though the visual of this might bug me, I'm considering this used option for its used factor in pricing.) /// Usually I know Coach, and only Coach well, and I usually don't feel the need to authenticate C. beyond my own checking/knowledge, but perhaps that was more 2005/6 re: quality or perhaps I've just had a ton of luck with my C. purchases. I also wonder if higher-faked Coaches are higher-quality fakes??? (Like Guccis look good in photos IMHO.) /// If you're put-off or curious why the seller mentions that it is not patent, it is due to photo #1; I asked about patent. I thought, heck why not make sure this is not a fake with patent, that would be an easy qualifier, JIC, even though I was pretty sure it was just the camera flash, as another pic already there made it look like regular leather. Just thought, why not?! Perhaps I was trying to find an excuse not to spend more $, haha. (I didn't think she would type this stuff on her photos. Hehe.)

Thanks in advance. Simpler replies are highly welcome, not just answers to my many other ponderments above, haha.

BTW I've been feeling better since my last sick-day post! That was rough but I'm still not sure if it was just my tired eyes causing me to miss the pleats or what.

Good luck to everyone else ... I'll check back later/soon!
1. Carly bags are highly faked and although the leather carlys are faked, it's more often the signature bags that you'll see more fakes of.

2. Misalignment you refer to on left side of bottom of bag: Not an issue. Coach isn't a high-end price point brand and you won't see the type of perfection that you'd find in LV and Hermes. Seams have to start and end somewhere and they aren't always perfect.

3. Better vs. worse fakes: Yes, there are "good" fakes and obvious fakes. And some of the "better" fakes need side by side comparisons to see the differences.

4. Your comments about patent leather: Not sure if you're asking a question or thinking out loud but this bag isn't patent leather.

The bag in the listing looks to be authentic.

The bag in the listing is fine. I don't see any problems or any misalignments in picture #2.

I own this bag in the same color. The color is called Chili.

Been burned, omgosh, I meant right side!!! Thanks for probably knowing what I meant. I'm the WORST with lefts and rights. Oh gosh.

I knew it wasn't patent. I thought that someone might just wonder about the seller's photo remarking about it's not being patent. Not sure if I explained well why I asked her (Thinking aloud to explain:) it was A) if it were patent I could know it's fake--easypeasy, and I'm probably a photo snob sometimes I'm starting to realize - I mean with the bad shininess irking me as much as I'm realizing it does---silly and B) just trying to find reasons not to spend $ at this moment even though I really want Carly in this color and asking her when I wrote seemed easier than coming to this thread, because I find posting here makes me worry about how I "look", bah and gah! BUT I really just threw the Q in there with a few others, and felt why not. /endthoughts

Thanks for the answer!

Thinking aloud again: I am now wondering if the alignment on the RIGHT and a discoloration on the front means I'd regret this exact purse, anyway. It's a F/W bag to me, but I've wanted it for a long time (when it came out I had to tighten my belt with my 1st very own apartment, plus no roommates, then suffered my own recession for two years - bad timing actually HAVING real bills). (Wasn't even into red this winter though, and here it's Spring.) SOOOO that's what it's coming down to, really. Is this bag with the discoloration on the front right for me...

Now that she has a vote for looking authentic, if someone else snags her, I won't mind. I asked her for even more photos now, of the discoloration/scratch she mentioned. (She wrote to me personally that it looks like a discoloration.)

One last thinking out loud statement. It's funny that there are apparently more signature fakes than leather. It's interesting and doesn't surprise me, whether it's regarding what people want to buy (for less!) or other reasons.

Just throwing this "patent"ially crazy rambling post up there, like I often do. Kind of just wanted to be understood on the patent remarks, though some things are hard for me to explain without taking an hour / turning writing into an MLA essay ;).

Thanks for all the help you always give here! It's so past my bed time. Good night!

Once comment to clarify what I said regarding fakes of signature vs. leather. I'm not sure whether you misinterpreted it or not.

I was referring specifically to Carly bags when I said that although they fake the leather ones, in Carly bags, there are more faked signature and patterned ones than fake leather ones.

yes yes very true! I guess i didn't think on that perspective. I have an old version of an american girl doll and they used to stamp a #@ symbol on the lower part of the ear. It doesn't show but it proves its authentic. Thank you ladies/gentlemen for answering all my annoying questions!!

I know nothing about fobs my guess is fake don't ask why I feel this I just have that gut feeling lol

anyone please? thank you!

2. Might be okay but not enough pictures
3. Might be okay but wait for other opinions

5. I have difficulty recommending luv2sell2u2day. Although the wallet in question looks okay, I still dislike the seller's continued use of stock photos in many of the listings. The seller owns a camera, takes beautiful pictures and should NOT be using Coach's and Kate Spade's stock photos! And for the seller to put her watermark on the manufacturer's stock pics, that's wrong. Grrr.)

6. Might be okay but wait for other opinions.

thank you very much BeenBurned!
