HI, I would like to purchase this coach purse but I dont know if it is authentic..Could I get some help please..This is what the buyer says

************30094]# 15662 RETAILS $328.
************30094]*Coach multi colored signature C in scarf print sateen fabric
************30094]with dark blue patent leather trim with coach medallion
************30094] in the center of bag
************30094]*silver/nickel hardware
************30094]*inside is navy blue sateen fabric

I found the listing. In the future, please post as follows:

NWT COACH 15662 SCARF PRINT FRAMED CARRYALL BAG
Item: 170597476409
Seller User ID: gary10800_1
http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-COACH-15662...409?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item27b866e839

It appears to be okay. The seller seems to have 2 accounts and the items look okay.

ETA: I wouldn't recommend doing business with gary10800_1 or the other ID, vinylgirl46 as there appears to have been some shill bidding going on, at least in the past.

On Mar-08-10, Feb-14-10 and Feb-03-10, gary10800_1 left feedback for vinylgirl46.

hi i was just wondering if you post something on here to be authenticated that is still up for auction what are the rules if someone sees it, wants it and wins it too? is it fair game to anyone, or once you post it others that see it is there an unwritten rule that you can't bid cus its already claimed? there is this purse that i really really want and ive seen others like it and it looks like the exact same bag but just to be sure i really want to post it since ive never seen it in person. Im just aftraid someone one will see it, want it and bid and outbid me. Its a pretty popular bag. What are the rules on that?

It's fair game to anyone!

It's a lot easier to have an item authenticated before bidding and buying than it is to have to worry about a dispute after the fact. But in posting here, you are opening the listing for others to see too so, yes, in effect you run the risk of being outbid by someone else.

But understand that most bags are NOT rare, most are NOT OOAK and if the style is a popular one, I'm sure you aren't the only one looking at that particular listing anyway.

IMO, you should post the listing in the requested format and if you miss out, at least you'll know what to look for next time. I can almost guarantee that there'll be another one, if not immediately, then eventually.

Please authenticate and if you know the name and year of the bag I would appreciate taht info as well. TIA:smile1:

It looks good to me.

I have a question for the authenticators:
I was just wondering how you guys get so knowlegable? Do you girls/guys just buy bags a lot? Do you work for coach? This is so great bringing these items to you someone who knows about these things? Do you have tips on research or articles or websites anything? If you can't say that is fine. I was just wondering how you guys can tell it is fake or real. Especially if it is an item as old as the hills or a brand spankin new item! This is great!
Also another question: I posted an item earlier that had an unknown glitter stubstance. Ive tried a warm washcloth with a little soap on it Ive tried the coach cleaner and nothing works :( It is in the zipper lining. I am not sure how to remove it. Any suggestions? or is there a link to this website I can go to for cleaning questions? thank you!

I'm sure the other authenticators will chime in. For me, I draw on various sources: years of being a Coach fan and collector, experience being a buyer and seller, current and past items I've owned, information (files and pictures) I keep on items, old catalogs, looking at many, many Coach listings, seeing items in stores, the collective knowledge of TPFers on the Authenticate This Coach thread and in the TPF Coach forum. I've learned a lot from my fellow TPFers. ;)

The Answers to Authenticity Questions thread has a lot of valuable information and is worth reading, especially the more recent posts:

As for getting glitter out, you may want to ask in the main Coach forum for cleaning tips:
