Item: Coach Soho Satchcel????
Seller: SA

Comments: I found this cute little satchel at my SA yesterday, it's in mint condition, no wear at all. I did a search and couldn't find that exact style number on eBay, but I found some listings that looked like the same bag in a larger size. Any comments on authenticity and/or style name and info would be appreciated. If more pics are needed please just let me know. Thanks so much in advance!

Good catch! That bag was being sold by Goodwill in Savannah so I emailed them and told them that it was a fake. They ended the auction and sent me this nice note:

Thank you, we sincerely appreciate your pointing out this error on our part and have added the checking of these lists to our listing routine. Here at Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire, Inc. we try our best to authenticate all items prior to listing them. The proceeds from our Shopgoodwill.com and eBay sales help fund our mission of assisting people with disabilities and other barriers to employment to live independently and become employed and it is important to us that we are accurate in our listings.

We sincerely apologize for this mistake and thank you again for pointing this out and helping us improve our listing process.

Thank you,
Fabian Aguilar
E-sales Supervisor
Too bad most (if not all) Goodwill stores aren't as honorable.

The wallet in the pictures looks good. Some sellers on that site steal pictures from other sources so make sure the item you see will be the item you get.

Looks good.

Hi All! Thank you for help the last time. Reading through this whole thread has actually helped me to spot some fakes! You are all a great resource. To date I now have a collection of 4 bags (1 vintage), a wristlet and a key fob accumulated within the last couple of weeks. I'm truly an addict now.

I'm back with a whole bunch of bag links that I'm hoping you ladies will be willing to help me authenticate. I'm starting grad school so I'm looking for a bag that can fix a decent-sized book, a notebook and/or file folders.

Listing number: N/A (or I can't find it)
Seller: MissPurses
Link: http://www.artfire.com/modules.php?name=Shop&op=listing&product_id=2697583
Comments: This one has me wondering about authenticity. I'm not that great at authenticating when it comes to vintage. Also wondering if this one seems big enough for school?

Item: Great COACH Red Leather messenger crossbody #9082 used

Comments: If this is authentic, is it indeed a "crossbody" like the title claims? I'm only interested in bidding if it's a cross body.

Thanks in advance!

Hello! I have virtually no experience with Coach, so I am hoping the experts here can help. :D I found some Coach bags on Amazon.com that I would like to buy as gifts. The sellers seem to be reputable, but I am leery about buying Coach from a site like Amazon, which is largely unregulated. Any thoughts about the authenticity of these pieces?

Coach Poppy Red Sequin Bag

Coach Silver Sequin Bag

Coach Sequin Wristlet

The seller for all 3 items is: trendigirlz ~ they have excellent amazon marketplace feedback

And there's also:

Coach Large Silver Sequin Wristlet

The seller is Fashionista & Bob ~ also with an excellent amazon marketplace rating.

Thanks so much for your help!

First one - not 1970 and very possibly fake, those plastic ID windows were maybe used on a handful of Coaches if that, but they show up on quite a few fakes. The texture of the leather isn't quite right either.

There's absolutely NO way you should ever buy or bid on a Coach bag unless the seller shows a clear, legible photo of the creed stamp and serial number in the listing. If you can have her email a photo of the creed stamp to you, we'll take another look. (As for fitting your needs, those "Hippie" bags are flat and won't hold much more than a cell phone - don't wwaste your time looking at them.)

Second - again, no creed stamp. Don't buy without photos.

Third - genuine but another flat bag that only looks wide because it's stuffed.

Fourth - NOT a true cross-body, and no photo of the creed - listing the number isn't good enough. I usually stick with classic and vintage bags so someone else will have to check for authenticity, sorry.

Comments: doesn't look good, but I'm using my phone so want to check

It looks good, though I'd like to see a clearer creed photo.

It's an old Sonoma "Small Flap" Natural (Pebbled Leather) either from 1995 or 1996. I can't quite read the "year" code.

:smile1:
It's a 6. 1996.

I enlarged the creed. It got a bit grainy though.

Thanks so much for your help!
trendigirlz:
1. The red sequin bag uses Coach's stock pictures and none of the seller's own pics.
2. The silver bag uses a mannequin that is in several of her listings but I'm not sure whether they're her own pictures either because other sellers use the same pictures. I can't tell who uses whose pics.
3. The pictures appear to be of an actual item but with so many different angles and photographing styles, I have no idea whether she does her own work or not.

Fashionista & Bob:
Listing shows stock photos too.

All sellers should do their own work and not use copyrighted work belonging to others.

What you really need to do is measure everything you plan on carrying, or at least the largest items and then allow 2 more inches "wiggle room" for getting your things in and out of the bag. My guess just for the file folders would be at least 12x9 inches so there's no way you should be considering bags only 10 or 11 inches across, especially since that's maximum width and doesn't take things like short zippers and rounded corners into account. Keep the measurements and a ruler next to your computer, or measure a bag you already have that holds everything you carry.

You really should be looking at messenger-style bags but there weren't many large Classic and vintage ones made.
