It looks fine.

I'm not sure where you read that authentic Coach bags are supposed to have the hardware stamped with the Coach name but generally, the more markings, the more likely the bag is to be fake.

Although some styles have some Coach markings stamped on hardware, most do not.

thanks so much, i had a coach bag before a small flap and the hardwares has some engravings :)

Hello! :)
I just found another listing for a bag w/ the U.S. seal embossed on the front in red. The seller states that a friend bought this on a trip to Washington D.C. in the late 70's, early 80's. If the friend bought it, I am to assume that she bought it at a gift shop opposed to getting by being a white house staff member like I thought. Any ideas?

A poster at Ebay's Shoes & Purses forum mentioned seeing a white one a few years back so apparently they're more common than we thought. I'm thinking that DemRam's idea that they were made as souveniers for the Bicentennial in 1976 might be the right one. There can't be that many former White House staffers selling their old Coaches on Ebay. And the various government building gift shops in DC still sell clothing and accessories with the Great Seal on them.

It probably would have been a pretty expensive souvenier. ;)

Heads up...yet another black "gathered Carryall" has shown up. I have noticed something...a lot of these "superfakes" are coming in from Canada. For instance...

Here is the Carryall, which we all know is not available yet whatsoever if it is even being released:
http://cgi.ebay.com/AUTHENTIC-COACH...924?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item1c1d07873c

And here are two of those Mad Gathered Sophias with that yucky plastic on the handles and everything else...(these were also either relisted, sold outside of ebay, etc...look at the completed listings.

Seller number 1: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Auth-Coach-...217?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item256540d769

Seller number 2: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-COACH-MADIS...226?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3cb94cfd02

And all 3 are from Canada. I have heard about a lot of fake LV coming in from there...but now I think it's best to warn people about the fake Coach coming in also.

Honestly, if I were to ever buy a black Mad Gathered anything...I would buy from a retailer. Nowadays, you just can't be too safe with these. :(

Just my two cents.

ETA: Here is another one from one of the above sellers (all 3 have been reported by me): http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Auth-Coach-...429?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item25656b6e95

Let's get these seller ID's posted. I think all are connected. They're all not just from Canada but all from British Columbia.
1. 11sarah188
2. sweet-eye-care
3. 80voo
Another interesting coincidence (?) is that #2 and #3 both have recent feedbacks from the same buyer. This is a pattern we used to see with the Asian scams.

The buyers and sellers were all newbies who bought from and sold to each other and helped build each other's feedback scores.
