Comments:Picture from coach site 2007
Found same picture bigger size.
Everything looks fine except the lower right dark blue pattern is very different. The one from Coach-site does not touch the red/white squares like the ebay bag.
Does this mean FAKE ?

Thanks
The bag in the listing is fine.

I think it's pattern placement you're questioning. That's not a problem. The patchwork fabrics are in their proper locations but the placement of the pattern on the fabric will vary from bag to bag based on how the material was cut during the construction process.

Thanks for your fast answer. To clarify, I am not worried about pattern placement.
I am worried about the size and shape of the fabric. It is very different.
Edit: I don't know how the patches are cut, but I assume they always will have same size/shape ?

I see what's causing the confusion.

I don't have that exact style but I own 2 other bags from the Weekend Patchwork line - what you're not seeing in any of the photos and what can only be seen when you have one of the actual styles from that line in front of you is that what looks like 2 different patches in the lower right corner of the bag is actually ONE single patch that has 2 separate designs on it. One is the lighter denim C pattern and the other is the darker navy "swirly" C pattern, but they're both printed alternately on the same piece of fabric and the red "Coach" logo overlays both of them - what actually appears in that corner will depend on how the fabric's been cut. So what looks like 2 different patches is actually one - it's a single SEAMLESS piece of fabric.

The bag in the listing you asked about is genuine.

Besides authenticating, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if Coach would supply a replacement shoulder strap for a bag like this?

What I've done in the past, budget permitting, is look for a decent price on a lightly-used Swingpack that has the long adjustable strap with the same color leather trim AND with matching metal dog-leash clips on both ends. You may end up with a Natural color with lilac end tabs but that might still go with the bag. It takes some patience and a lot of luck but I've swapped straps from Swingpacks to other bags several times already since I prefer a long cross-body strap.

Just an idea. Or you can even get a combination chain and leather strap with a white, black or cream patent leather piece like the ones toward the bottom of this page:

Thank you for the good ideas! The seller has not answered me yet, but I believe the bag also has no hangtags. Is that something coach would be more likely to have or is there somewhere on ebay I should look for that?

You don't know until you ask.

I think those bags were at the outlets about 6 months ago so if they ever had spare hangtags they're probably gone by now, they might just send a plain silver one.

I saw this bag on ebay and reported it. I hope I was right and it is fake. Anyhow it has not been removed yet.
As BB mentioned I thought if you think it is fake, you would want to report it as well
Wait a second!!!

BB has never said to report a "suspected" fake. In fact, she says NEVER report any bag unless it's confirmed as fake.

AND THIS BAG IS 100% AUTHENTIC. DO NOT REPORT!

That bag is not fake and should not be reported. It is an exception to all the Coach rules. And BeenBurned has always said to report only known fakes, not suspected fakes or probable fakes.

Can anyone make out the serial number on that bag? I'm trying to read it but it's practicaly illegible especially the style number. And is there another fur-trimmed diagonal-C bag besides 8K48?

The more I look at it, the more fake it looks. The leather is cheap, the stitching of the buckle and tab accent is bad, the fabric and fur both look cheap, and I don't remember that style having a C lining. Is that another style I haven't seen before and can someone tell me the style number? The style number also looks like the digits are half the size of the serial prefix, and that style - if there was only one version of the diagonal-C bag - didn't come out until 2005.

Still checking my photo files...

Arrrgh! I didn't see the signature lining! I thought it was solid color satin. I sincerely apologize.

I think Hyacinth and Me-Butterfly might be right about authenticity but......

I have never said to report suspected fakes. I still say that one should never report any bag that they personally don't know if fake.

6k48, 8k47, 8k48 - or None Of The Above?

Sorry, I agree that it's fake. There are a lot of problems with that bag.

I also agree that it shouldn't have been reported without checking here first.

I am bad too. Missed the lining. I went on BB's post and thought everything had been checked already.

My laptop won't open the photos in the listing because of a javascript error.

Either way, it is fake. But we do not report bags we think are fake.
