Authenticate this COACH

Hi!!! I am brand new to TPF. I have visited many times and read posts. I received a bag from a friend and I have no idea where she bought it. I only know that there is a leather tag inside with numbers and letters on it. The hardware all says Coach. Can you authenticate this bag? It is a little lighter in color than the pictures show. The tag itself says N o with an underscore under the o then U 0 K-1053. I believe that is a 3 from using my magnifying glass. My eyes are that great anymore! LOL! I think you may have a counterfeit.




Bags that had unique serial numbers would have only numbers in the serial, never letters of the alphabet. Letters were added to the serial number in 1994 at the same time Coach started including the style number as the second half of the serial. The letters are codes for the month and place of manufacture.

Also the year code from the bag in your photo is from 2002, and I doubt very much that the real style 9973 (called a Kit Bag, I think - Dem Ram's photo is correct) was still made in that year OR made in the US. It's fake but it's a very close one, although the font in the creed stamp is a bit "off".

#1: Looks fine but it's certainly not vintage. It was made in 2007. Also, it was made in China (as per the creed) and not in the USA.

#2: Wait for the classic leather experts but I don't see any red flags

#3: Looks good.
