Hello,

Could someone help identify and authenticate this bag? It has already been purchased, wasn't expensive, but I am still curious about its style and authenticity.

It's a simple, small, cross-shoulder, black leather bag approximately 7" x 7" x 2" at the bottom. Model inside is listed as G30-6610.

I don't know the name. The tag said SIG STR SHLDR BAG 3H00033049 and had a handwritten price of $209.99 (Like an outlet markdown). I'm not naive enough to believe the tag and think it's either from another bag or an outright fake. However, I'd like to know about the bag itself. Is it genuine? Does anyone know the style? Any help would be appreciated.

The bag looks good to me, but DemRam and Hyacinth are the "classic leather" experts.

As for the tag, it's definitely not the correct tag for this bag. The tag is for a signature stripe bag and not a leather one. Without seeing the tag, I can't say whether it's a genuine or fake tag, but it doesn't belong to the bag in question.

HOw clever - note the sarcasm in my voice!! They purposely cut off the top part of the tag that shows the style number and color coding information. (Obviously, whoever was selling this bag knew that leaving the style information on the tag would prove that the tag doesn't belong to that bag.) The tag looks authentic; just not for that bag.

DemRam and Hyacinth will check in and see your questions and respond.

I just got off the phone with the seller and unless you ladies tell me it's fake, I'm meeting her tomorrow morning to buy it. I think this just may be the deal of the century . . . so that's why I'm afraid it's too good to be true!

DO NOT BUY!! It's fake. Many wrong details: leather is wrong texture (probably fake leather); turnlock is the wrong shape; back pocket should not be straight across; there should not be studs on the back near the bottom; hangtag is wrong; there should not be studs on the underside of the handle.

Please report the listing by clicking to flag it as "Prohibited" so that someone else doesn't get scammed.
