I apologize in advance if this is not the correct place to ask this question. In browsing the internet, I often come across sites that have very low prices on items that look authentic. However in some of the descriptions, not all, I catch the word "mirror". Are these sites ones that I should report at the Coach website link? Or are those so many and Coach already knows they exist but just too many to do something about?

Please let me know if there is somewhere else that I should post this?

Thanks for all your help!

Ladies,

I need from advice please (probably more confirmation that I'm right). I just purchased a Large COACH Sabrina from a seller on ebay. She had 800+ 100% positive feedbacks and she had the Black and Brass combo I've been desiring for too long.

Got the bag today. Noticed immediately that the leather felt "stiffer" than my other Sabrinas. Figured it needed a little loving and conditioner. Then I unclipped the dogleash clasp and became more than concerned. I compared the clasp to my large sabrina and my smaller on....they're not the same.

Does/Did COACH use different sized clasps? Did I buy a fake. I've been a COACH collector for 20+ years and consider myself a pretty bright gal. Did I get scammed?

Pictures attached show a comparison of my Large Cranberry Sabrina and my small Parchment Sabrina with the purchas Large Black Sabrina.

Concerns about Dogleash Hardware

Thanks BeenBurned. I agree that the photos in the last post look good. It's the hardware that throws me off. Doesn't match any of the dogleash claps I have in my collection and the leather just feels off.

The seller is a member of TPF, has 800+ 100% feedback so I'm sure if this happens to be a really good counterfiet that she bought it as authentic and is trying to pass on a great find just as I would. Take a look at the hardware pics below.

I'm hoping that Starry will check in on this post because she's very good with Sabrina bags, but I feel the need to comment again.

One thing you haven't done is post the listing. Listings are important because a seller's listing, other items, history and feedback offer a wealth of information that pictures by themselves don't show.

You've posted many pictures and I don't know how many other opinions you've received but I know I've already responded at least twice that the bag looks fine and I see absolutely nothing that indicates that it's fake.

What bothers me is that you keep posting more pictures, trying to force a change of opinion. Personally, if I received a bag that I bought expecting it to be authentic and questioned it, I'd be absolutely ECSTATIC to get confirmation that I got what I paid for.

But in this case, your first statement (bold-faced in red above) tells me that you've already made up your mind that the bag is fake and you want confirmation.

You won't get it from me because I don't believe that you got a fake.

Understand that you are comparing this bag to another bag that you have but even though they may be the same style number, they may have been made in different months, years and factories.

Thus, even though the style is the same, the hardware, leather, creed fonts, etc., might differ. That doesn't mean that one is fake and the other isn't.

And leather, being a natural product is going to differ slightly from cow to cow. Some leathers might be slightly stiffer than another, but again, it doesn't mean that it's fake.

From what I can see, you got an authentic bag and at this point, I sure hope you haven't accused the seller of sending you a fake. (Buyers should NEVER accuse a seller unless and until such time that a bag has been confirmed as fake.)

I do hope someone else will chime in with another opinion.

I agree with BeenBurned. Buyer, you got an authentic bag. You seem to be hung on trying to "prove" that the bag is fake. Just FYI that Coach SAs are not authorized to authenticate in store and some will even automatically say that a bag is fake if told that it was purchased on ebay, even if the bag is real.

In your initial post, you didn't post any relevant pictures in order for us to authenticate the bag. You did not post pictures of the bag itself (front, back, bottom, sides), inside lining, creed, hangtags. Only after being asked to post more pictures did you post only one picture of the entire bag. Going by the pictures you did post, I don't see any problems with the bag or with the hardware. The hardware is correct and the dimensions you measured are consistent with some dogleash clips on bags that I own.

BeenBurned is correct when she says that while you are comparing this to another bag of the same style, the other bag may have been made in a different month and factory, and thus could have differences in details. Not to mention the Cranberry Sabrina that you are comparing this to was a Pilot bag. Pilot bags are initial test runs of a style that can have different hardware, creeds, linings, stitching, etc. from the final production version. The two really shouldn't be compared.

BB is also correct about the leather. Frankly, I'm surprised that as a Coach collector for "20+ years" you wouldn't be aware that texture of leather can vary, even on bags of the same style. If you do a search here in the Coach forum, you will find many posts discussing this same topic.

If these opinions are not enough, I would advise that you post more pictures of the bag: front, back, bottom, sides, inside, lining, rivets, zipper pull, handles, strap, and a closeup of the hangtags. I don't see any problems in the pictures you posted so far, but if you want a closer look, these are the pictures that are needed.

Although I think it's virtually 100% of those sites, I'll be conservative and say that 99.8% of websites that sell Coach are for fakes.

The reason the items "look" authentic is because many of them use stock photos that were stolen from Coach, department stores or other sellers of authentic items. Some also are "savvy" enough to buy an authentic bag to have for the pictures but then, when they sell, the item they ship to the buyers are fakes.

"Mirror" is a euphemism for counterfeit. And others that don't admit to items being fake often word their authenticity comments in such a way that they aren't saying the items are authentic but refer instead to quality, color or other details that may or may not be accurate.

Please can someone help me out with this bag? Thanks

item: Coach handbag - brand new

here are the additional pictures that I'd received by mail:

I'm not comfortable with this listing. First of all, the BIN price is way too low. Secondly, the seller doesn't have much feedback and not much selling history. The listing description describes the wrong bag - it's not an Audrey. In the pictures, the important details of the bag are covered by the wrapping. We need to see closeup pictures of the hangtags and logo plaque, hardware, rivets, zipper pulls, strap, handles and base of the handles, and inside lining and zipper pull, and back and sides of the bag.

Can someone help me to authenticate this?

Thank you ^_^

It looks ok.

Buyer claiming fake...states: ""I have noticed that the Hardware appears to be polished nickel, but has the weight of plastic.
Coach selects only the top ten percent of leathers. The poor quaility of this bag wouldn't qualify. Coach embossed creed with just a style number?"

Any help, comments would be greatly appreciated!

The buyer is wrong. The Zoe is authentic. The hardware on this bag is called Rosegold, which is a different color has a different feel from nickel or brass hardware. I don't know what the buyer means by "Coach embossed creed with just a style number?" The creed in your picture has the entire serial number.

Thanks so much once again

They all look ok, though # 2 & 8 could use a closeup picture of the creed.

In the future, if you have a long list of items, it would be helpful if you could split them up into several posts with no more than 5 or 6 items per post. Numbering helps too. It makes it easier for us to keep track of. Thanks! :smile1:

On Picture #5 (if you click enlarge) on the seam it says "ch" - Should it not say 'Coa' then 'ch' after the stitching?

That's because of where that piece of fabric was cut and sewn together at the seams. Like signature bags, each piece of fabric is not always cut in the same spot for every single bag, so there will be variation in C placement, and in this case, the placement of the letters in the word "Coach."
