It's really doubtful that anything you yourself bought at a Coach outlet would be fake. We've said this before but it bears repeating - Coach workmanship is NOT always perfect! Please get that "rule" out of your mind because it's just not true, not now and not 10 or 20 years ago either.
And Coach has NEVER used exactly the same creed formats and fonts on all its bags. There are variations between styles, years, and plants now and there were even more the older the item is. The ONLY time you can ever compare 2 Coach items is if they're exactly the same style and were made in the same plant and in the same month and year. Otherwise, there ARE going to be differences.
As for the fake you bought - unfortunately, to go along with Ebay's new policy of making things easier for counterfeit sellers, Ebay and not Paypal is now handling SNAD claims and no matter what you say to try and prove that the bag is fake, they'll still tell you to send it back to the seller to s/he can sell it to some other poor schmuck and Ebay can collect even more fees. They don't CARE if something's fake any more, all they want is to show a profit to the stockholders so the management can hang on to their jobs.
Before anyone buys a designer item on Ebay, I personally suggest they see if the same item is being sold on Bonanzle. At least the management there is making a solid effort to remove fakes and fakes sellers. And no, I don't sell on either one, but I'm thoroughly disgusted with Ebay and what's been happening with the way they're handling fakes and fakes reporting. Many tPFers have Bonanzle booths either in addition to or instead of Ebay stores, and it never hurts to check and see what's available. You may even be able to work with the sellers a little bit on the prices.
JMO, for what it's worth.
