I have a question...Would a turnlock on the front of a coach bag ever have "COACH" engraved on it under the turn lock part?
You'd have to show a picture. Coach is so inconsistent that I'd never dare say "never" with regard to any detail.

I agree that many fakes have "Coach" engraved in way more places than it should be, but it's possible that Coach may have put its name on turnlocks at some time or another.

Comments: Can someone please help me authenticate this one? I know the pics are a little blurry and you can't see the creed, but it looks so real!! Another thing throwing me off is the price... Any help is greatly appreciated!

P.S. I am new to this site, but I think it is so awesome! Hello all and thank you in advance for all of your help and advice!

I just want to add that I contacted the seller for a clear image of the creed and was told she wouldn't be returning home until Thursday. From the picture she did provide, the alignment of the creed looks wrong (first line is too short), but that could easily be because of lighting.

Hi and thanks much for the fast reply and info! Wow Am very happy to have found this site. I do feel that some of the Ebay guides arent quite correct or are misleading and like to double check when possible. When I find a bag locally that I know is made of genuine leather, I buy it even if I cant immediately identify it as fake or not. If it cannot be satisfactorily confirmed as authentic, then it gets disassembled and the leftover plain leather scraps are saved for the crafting bin for repurposing. At least it removes the faked purse from circulation without creating complete waste.

There are almost NO Ebay Guides with correct or even up to date information, and I always tell everyone NOT to depend on any of them especially the ones that say having such-and-such a feature (like YKK zippers) proves a bag is genuine. You can just about count the number of dependable Ebay guides on the fingers of one hand. And there is no ONE feature that will ever prove a Coach is genuine, especially something as easy to buy or duplicate as zippers, outlet stamps, etc. (and Coach has used at least FOUR different brands of zippers).

Almost every Coach "rule" anyone's ever posted here or anyplace else is either out of date, incomplete, applies only to a very limited number of styles, or is just plain wrong. And almost all the "rules", even the widely accepted ones, have exceptions. There's a lot of good information posted over the last 2 years in the "Answers To Authenticity Questions" thread.

Good idea on re-using leather scraps from fakes. I've also seen suggestions that include writing "fake" on the inside with permanent marker and giving them to the little girls in the family to use when they play dress-up, or cutting out the creed patch and removing any other Coach logos and donating them to local shelters. A surprising number of older fakes were very well made (like some that were made in Korea, where Coach has NEVER made purses) and used good quality leather.

There have been a few - very few - styles in the last 2 or 3 years that have had very small Coach logos on the turnlocks, but probably 95 percent of stamped turnlocks are fake. That's why we need to see photos, especially of all stamped hardware.

I think I may have made a boo-boo on this one. Can you guys take a look before the seller ships. After reading the fake thread I think I may have scored myself a big fat fake.

Message from the seller:
Sorry it took a while to get back to you. I had to locate that particular bag. My bottom line on the bag is $35.00. The numbers are 0444-315 made in USA. Thanks

The serial number is one of the invalid numbers. That bag is fake.
