Here is the item again. I don't know how to attach 2 quotes so it was only letting me reply to your last response.

The pictures don't work.

Please don't report yet.

I haven't seen that color, but nothing else screams fake to me. I'd just hate to see a possibly-authentic bag reported and taken down.

It's also odd that the care card is for signature fabric, but I've seen incorrect care cards in items.

More red flags...the hangtag is puffy and weird looking, no serial number on creedpatch and wrong dog leash clip.

FAKE in my inexperienced eyes.

I'm not saying it's authentic....I just don't know.

But regarding the lack of serial number on the creed, it's a pouch size and often, pouches don't have serial number.

Okay, I'm going to flip flop.

I went back and looked again and I agree that the bag is fake.

The text on the creed isn't for leather. It says that it's "made from the finest materials and trimmed....." which indicates a fabric bag.

That listing is fake.

I'm looking for an adorable vintage crossbody. Thoughts on the authenticity of this one?

Thanks girls!!
It looks good to me. Late 1980's - 1993 and I *think* it's the Coach "Webster" but I'm not totally positive about that.

Cute little bag!

;)

Close! I think it was called the "Chester Bag". :smile1:

I'm not sure how "factual" my comments are but they're based on my observations.

The counterfeiters will copy anything they think they can sell and make a profit on so I wouldn't venture to ever say that any item has never been faked.

But some items are more popular and the demand is higher, so those items are more likely to be faked. Handbags and wallets would fall into that category.

I've seen fake sneakers and shoes but not frequently. And often, the sellers of those fakes have several of the same items as well as other highly faked shoe brands, such as Nike. (It's not usually a one-pair seller.)

In fact, I only recall one scarf and that was actually a decent fake. It was silk and had what appeared to be the correct brown tag, but was made in Japan. (This was the only scarf I saw that I knew was fake.) I don't think there's enough profit for the counterfeiters to fake scarves because even at full price, they range from $38 to < $100.

Jewelry is highly faked as are keychains.

And I don't recall seeing fake umbrellas, though someone else may have seen them.

I've seen a few fake Coach umbrellas. They usually are pretty obvious fakes if you're familiar with how the real ones are supposed to look.

Fake Scribble scarves have been around for a while. And of course, there's always the infamous fake Scribble Bikinis, almost 100 percent of which are cheap ten-dollar fakes.

OH, yes! The scribble scarves.

And how could I forget the bikinis? Although I have to say that the bikini listings have gone w-a-y this year. In the last 3 years, I've seen one or two authentic scribble bikinis and probably 1000 fakes.

Hey, they both have 7 letters!:graucho:

I should never *think* I remember the name of anything anymore.

I'll let her know the actual name in case she doesn't check back.

Thanks Hyacinth.
