Hi. Can you please take a look at the pictures I have attached to tell me if you believe this is authentic - C8C-5299. I am concerned about the interior material. Is it worth $200? Thanks in advance.

I bought this one thrifting for very cheap, and have worn it multiple times, thinking (Stupidly, I'm sure) that fake vintage Coach bags did not exist. Then, I started questioning it, and decided to ask you guys for your opinion!

The leather on it is amazing, just to mention, which is why I automatically assumed it was real.

Sorry, it's fake.

The inside zipper pull is wrong but the big thing is the creed patch and the serial number. Those straight lines under and above each digit prove it's fake. A lot of older bags have "overstamping" lines but not straight ones on both sides of the numbers.

That's also a known fake number and is on the Fakes List posted at the Answers to Authenticity Questions thread - scroll most of the way down:
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-sh...henticity-questions-94198-19.html#post8716549

"More fake "classic' leather Coaches are showing up with bad creeds and the bogus "overstamping lines" above and below the serial numbers like I mentioned in post # 39. The latest one is a fake light blue tote (always be careful with older bags in unusual colors, Coach's classic leather colors were pretty conservative so anything besides the usual black, brown, navy, mahogany, British Tan, dark green etc should be examined closely).
Watch for these numbers - 0212-578 and 1212-578 "

Many older manufacturers including fakes makers used high-quality leather, some of the Korean-made fakes would easily pass for a real Coach just based on the leather. I hope you'll remove the hangtag if the bag has one and get as much use out of it as you can. But PLEASE don't sell it or donate it when you're finished with it - cut an X through the creed stamp or cut the creed out completely before you throw it in the garbage.

It's 11 years old and was called a Beekman Computer case. Does it still have the shoulder strap?

As for what it's worth, you might want to search Ebay for Coach Beekman or Coach 5299 and see what else comes up, use the "Check titles and descriptions" link.

What it's worth is always up to the buyers - a used bag is worth only what someone's willing to pay for it.

in answer to your question - it does have a shoulder strap. Do you think it is authentic?
