Is it a fake. Am I right?

VERY fake - is this an auction listing, and can you post the link?

And yes, please read the Answers thread - there's NO rule about how many digits are in a serial number. In fact, I've said before that there should be at least 7 digits in the serial number and I've found several exceptions to that "rule" too.

I just discovered the coach bags and got myself a few purses. I love them! :girlsigh: I like to browse eBay, look at coach bags and improve my authenticating skills. I didn't want to buy this fake purse, I was just wondering if I was right. I messaged the seller and asked here where she had got it from and told her that it's a fake. She responded she had bought it herself at a coach outlet store and she would tell them next time she is there. Hello everyone. Thanks for the help you've been putting here. I am trying to read around to check if I can tell a fake from a legit.. can you help me with this? I think the first 2 pictures are from the website though, but does the lining look good? I am trying to ask the seller to post more images though.

Thanks so much.. :)

Thanks sare_bear320. I have no issues ordering online, if only to be sure that what I am getting is an authentic one, especially with the number of replicas that are around. those auctions you have posted are pretty good, thanks so much for those. given the price difference, I would really consider them.

anyway, the seller has provided me pictures of the item. some look like stock item pics (at least for me, but hey, I am a noob at these things). I have uploaded them here. though they look better than those ones posted in the ad, imho.

The bag in the pictures you posted is real, but I don't think these are the seller's own pictures because they are very professional-looking, and if they were the seller's own pics, then why didn't the seller put these pictures in the auction? In the auction, the seller uses two stock photos and then one picture of the inside of the bag that was either taken by the seller or by someone else. It's confusing. If you look at the seller's other sold items, you see that all the pictures have different backgrounds, some are stock photos and some aren't.

I see one auction with a picture
http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270387451787

that was taken from this seller

It goes back to what I said earlier, unless the seller can send you her own pictures of the bag you'll be getting I don't know if I'd want to buy.

The seller is either lying or is mistaken about where she got it. Coach outlets NEVER sell fakes. Hopefully the seller will remove the auction before it gets pulled.

I am just starting to get into collecting Coach bags and want to make sure I am buying the real deal. How is it that I bought off a site (took my chances) that I was told only sells fakes and actually received an authentic one (had it looked at on here)? Can it be that not all sites sell fakes and most of us just jump to conclusions? Why isn't it that some people actually buy these handbags at sales and resale them themselves? And as for the stock photos or one-two pictures that some sellers provide, what happens if they have a lot of stock and to cut down on labour and time (and all their handbags come wrapped and enclosed as not to open a new package); it in turn provides the buyer with a great deal? Just want some input from you ladies so I have a better understanding of purchasing a Coach handbag and not get ripped off.

TIA

Maybe you just got lucky.

Coaches on sale don't come wrapped and enclosed, BTW, and even if they did I'd expect a seller to take a pic of THE BAG I'M ACTUALLY BUYING and also to check it for damage or problems. That old excuse "it's still in the wrappings and I don't want to open it" is BS. I EXPECT a seller to look over my merchandise before sending it out - it's THEIR reputation at stake if the bag is damaged or has a problem. And a BUSINESS using that excuse to justify stealing copyrighted photos is inexcuseable.

Using someone else's photos is ILLEGAL. It's a violation of their copyright and if a photo thief is already a thief, why would they care about being honest with other aspects of the sale? And a BUSINESS who violates copyright laws is even MORE disgusting, especially when they say RIGHT ON THEIR WEBSITE:
"All content included on this site, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio, data compilations, and software, is the property of NobleDesigners.com and protected by United States and international copyright laws. The compilation of all content on this site is the exclusive property of NobleDesigners.com and protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. All software used on this site is the property of NobleDesigners.com or its software suppliers and protected by United States and international copyright laws."
So these charming lowlifes are saying that THEY CAN STEAL PHOTOS FROM COACH'S WEBSITE IN VIOLATION OF US COPYRIGHT LAWS, SLAP THIER WATERMARK ON TOP, AND THAT MAKES THEM THEIR PHOTOS? And they have the right to take legal action against someone who steals the photos THEY JUST STOLE FROM SOMEONE ELSE? Fascinating.

Looking through your previous posts, you've also asked here about buying designer bags from dropshippers especially the one that posted that Copyright statement on their website. In fact, I'm wondering if you're still thinking about buying bags for resale from them even after all the advice we've given you. (I also keep remembering something that we've encountered before - new posters actually trying to make a case for "proving" bags they've bought from a questionable site are real because they have a connection to that site. Of course, you wouldn't do that).

And if you don't believe what others here have said about the site you bought from, then why do you believe the people here who looked at your bag? Do you think that because you (maybe) got a real one, that means that site must be selling genuine bags, and that everything they say is true?

I'm not sure why you think "Hey, the Purseforum people must be wrong about that site" instead of "Hey, guess I got lucky this time". But you're welcome to believe us or not, it's up to you. And you're welcome to deal with a business that doesn't obey the law, that's up to you too.

1) I had bought a bag recently. I think it should be authentic but I just want to double check and make sure of it.

This is the additional pictures that the seller had sent:

2) Please help to authenticate this bag too

Many thanks in advance ^-^

Both look ok to me.

I am just trying to authentic this fabulous Coach handbag I got at an unbeleivable price. No strings attached, just wanted some feedback from the experts as I don't usually buy such items for myself and wanted to treat myself. And if one can find a great deal, what not take advantage of it.
