After looking at the other ones on Ebay, I'm going to say this one's fake. The texture of the leather, its apparent thinness, the size and stamping of the hangtag, the shape, stamping, stitching and thinness of the creed - there's a lot of red flags on this bag. It's not even a 7-star fake.

Compare it to these with Geranium trim:

"But i have a delima my friend bout it for me from someone on ebay and he already left positive feedback. What should we do so that her money can be returned and to get rid of this fake handbag. It really upsets me when i think of the slave shop it was probably made in."

If your friend bought it, she has to file a claim either with Paypal or her credit card company depending on how she paid for it and how long ago she bought it. She CAN'T file with both, it has to be one or the other.
Can you post the auction number or the seller's ID so we can take a look at her other auctions? Or is it already posted here and I missed it?

This is the seller (the pictures are watermarked with the seller's name): http://myworld.ebay.com/shoppervision/

I've quoted my post about the Leah's the seller has sold.

Agree. The hangtag also looks weird. I find it strange the this "new" bag doesn't come with a price tag and the seller has sold 4 "new" Leah Op Art 13142 bags that are ALL "missing leather hangtag no dust bag" and have no price tags. The pictures on the earlier Leah auctions have already been removed, but for the one sold most recently, the creed doesn't look right.

if you like this style of bag the geranium was selling for $89 at my outlet a few weeks back...so you can still get the style at a good price in the actual store

Ok thanks for that info. So it is more reasonable to shop at the coach outlet vs department stores? My friend just made a dispute with paypal so hope this goes well. From now on we will come here first to ask questions before buying online. Yall are the best and thanks for all your help. My friend wishes she would have came here first would have saved us a headache. I really love this purse and now i just want to set it on fire. Oh well what can you do? there will always be someone out there trying to get over on someone else.

the outlet is usually a better deal than department stores (when dept stores have items on sale then do a friends and family sale on top it though it can be really reasonable-but outlets usually run things around 1/3 of the actual retail price when it was in the full price store). the factory carries deletes from the coach boutique as well as lines made for the factory only (which is what the real version of the fake you got is). if you like that style definitely go into the outlet and look-you can find the real thing at almost the same price your friend paid (just a different color leather trim).

Your post gave me the courage I needed to report my first NEGATIVE ever. All the advise is really helpful! I wrote to Hyacinth too (later this day).
I feel so stupid... Thanks for the advise - I'm not sending it back either, I'm going to destroy it somehow (or send it to Coach)

I'm glad this helped. You will be helping others in the long run - they will know that the seller is one to stay away from.

I found an earlier thread about a supposedly vintage bag with the serial number 202-07, and it was identified as a fake, but the accompanying photos are gone. I have a brown bag with the same serial number, and it seems quite authentic from what I've been able to determine, but I'm no expert. My best friend's mother was cleaning out her closet and gave me three vintage Coach bags. Two of them, including this one, I'm pretty sure are genuine, but one seems sort of chintzy. I will post photos of all three to authenticate, but for now I'm puzzled by this serial number - it's the only 3-digit/2-digit (i.e. xxx-xx) one I've seen, and according to the Purse Blog FAQ, that's not possible.

Hi,

Coach NEVER used a 5 digit serial number. Although some of these fakes can look "good" at first glance, they are still counterfeit bags.

You can post photos of all three bags and have others comment on them.

There is some great information about Coach's numbering system on this link:

The creed on that bag probably also says Made In Korea, but Coach NEVER made purses there. There will be a few other mistakes on the bag that we can point out when you post your pictures.
