The seller is offering to refund my bid amount only, and she did not explain why the tags didn't match even though I asked her to. Hopefully it will all work out, and I am done buying on ebay. Thanks so much ladies!!

Thanks Hyacinth for your opinion on this. Looking at this again, there are things that seem off to me, such as the leather and stitching around the inside zipper. The fact that the receipt and price tag are for a different bag is kind of fishy. It can be deceptive when sellers don't take straight-on pictures of the creed. It can seem ok from an angle, but when seen straight on, there may be details that are off. The bottom of the bag also worries me, but as I said before, I don't own this bag, so I'm not familiar with whether it's supposed to look like this. :confused1:

I emailed the lady, who was very responsive and sent me via email another picture and a picture of the creed, which seems very authentic, but my concern is that she is selling it soo cheap. I asked if she would ship, (shes 2 hours away) and she said yes and said she can accept money via paypal, google, or money order/cashiers check. She then sent me a paypal invoice.

If I go ahead and pay via paypal, and it turns out to be a fake, am I protected for a refund via paypal or is that only if you get it through ebay? HELP!!!

Anyone???

About the second part of your question, if you're covered by Paypal and the item turns out to be Significantly Not As Described, here's what Paypal's site says - notice Part A, they have to be able to recover funds from the seller if they decide you're due a refund. If the seller has closed her PP account, you're out of luck. Regular Ebay sellers are less likely to close their accounts than non-sellers. Also remember that it's the BUYER'S responsibility to prove to PP's satisfaction that the item is SNAD or fake.

13. Disputes between Buyers and Sellers - Buyer Protection Programs.
  1. 13.1 Buyer Protection Programs. If you buy an item using PayPal and either do not receive the item or receive an item that you believe is Significantly Not as Described by the seller, we encourage you to open a Dispute with the seller in our Resolution Center. By doing so, you will initiate our Online Dispute Resolution Process—a step-by-step system designed to facilitate communication between you and the seller in order to get resolution of the issue. If your dialogue with the seller fails to produce a satisfactory result, you can then escalate the Dispute into a Claim that we will evaluate for reimbursement under one of the following programs:
    1. PayPal Buyer Complaint Policy - Our best efforts program to reimburse Users for losses only to the extent we are able to recover the funds from sellers.
    2. PayPal Buyer Protection Policy - Our program to reimburse Users for losses for up to (i) $2,000.00 USD (Top Tier Coverage Amount) for eligible items purchased on eBay and (ii) up to $200.00 USD (Basic Tier Coverage Amount) for all other eligible items purchased on eBay and for eligible items purchased on eBay. Please see section 13.9 to determine whether Top Tier Coverage Amount or Basic Tier Coverage Amount applies to your eBay purchase.
    3. Buyer Protection for eBay Express - Our program to reimburse Users for the full amount of losses for items purchased on eBay Express.
    4. Extended Buyer Protection with PayPal Credit - Our program to reimburse Users for the full transactional amount of the items purchased using PayPal Credit.
These programs only cover payments for tangible, physical goods. All other payments, such as payments for intangibles, services, airline flight tickets, or licenses and other access to digital content are not covered by any Buyer Protection Program that we offer (but may be covered by Chargeback rights).

But PLEASE always fund your PP purchases, whether Ebay or not, with a major CREDIT (not Debit!) card.

That may be the best you can expect, since there really isn't enough to prove the bag is fake. Just be sure to send the bag back specifying that the recipient's signature is required, and save all emails until you get your refund.

You don't have to be afraid of buying on Ebay as long as you ask here before you bid. There are a lot of great sellers on Ebay, you just have to be careful and never bid on impulse or without knowing how to analyze a seller's photos and history. Otherwise it's like buying a house without having it professionally inspected first.

found a pair of caprice, which i know really suits my face because i have a pair in rose from coach boutique. :)

i compared all the described details to my rose pair and everything seems ok. but this seller also sells coach tissue paper? how dodgy! what's more... some of the people who bought these tissue paper from him are no longer registered!

is anyone familiar with sunnies? :confused1:

well, i got my bargain basement *bay purchase in the mail today and now i am not so sure. here is the auction link again, and some pictures that i took. i cannot get the creed to turn out, but there's a pic on the original post above that the seller sent me. (well, it didn't copy onto my post- let me know if i need to post it again) please any opinions? i can only find the YKK stamp on one of the inside zippers. i don't see it on all of them. i think on my new bags it is on all the zippers. and i wasn't sure about the sides of the bag, with the piping trim, but i searched the style on *bay and it looks like that is how they were made. there's also a little red coach button/emblem on the zipper that closes the bag and also on the outside pocket zipper. please let me know if i got a good deal on an authentic bag or if i was fooled! :confused1: pics: 1- full view of the front, 2- bottom, 3- closeup of outside pocket, 4- booklets that came with it, 5-side view of the piping- sorry bad lighting in that one. TIA

Alisa, I have a Zoe style 6070 from 2002 which is from the same "family" as your bag, and my Zoe has exactly the same features - the small Coach button on the two outside leather zipper pulls, the self-fabric piping on the seams, and mine also has the YKK stamped only on the inside zipper. The outside slip pocket above the zippered pocket on yours is probably held closed by a magnetic snap that should say either Romag or Coach, just like mine.

Why do you think it's not real?

Please take a look at this patchwork wallet
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Coach-Patchwork-Signature-Slim-Wallet-Purse-41007_W0QQitemZ200229428594QQihZ010QQcategoryZ1063QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I've researched this forum for this seller n found there;s a little iffiness around him. I wonder why its soooooo much cheaper than the other patchwork wallets?

I've worked with this seller before. My product was authentic and in excellent condition. The wallet looks fine. If you have any questions just ask.

I wasn't sure about the authenticity due to the zipper issue. I thought they would all be YKK. I wasn't sure what year this was made, and if the number of YKK zippers depended on the year it was made. The serial number is M1J-6082. On the outside, it has like a pocket within a pocket- not really sure how to describe it. Kind of a pouch pocket and then the zippered pocket on top. The outside pocket- without the zipper- does not have a magnetic button. It is just kind of a loose- slip type pocket- if that makes sense. I don't know if this was just because it is a different style than yours? Everything else seems good- the stitching, lining, creed looks good, leather, etc. It was just the zipper throwing me off. But, if you think it is ok and like your others from the same "family", then I think it's probably ok. You're definitely more of an expert than me! Thanks for all your help.

Hi, I'm new here (but still a huge coach lover) and I read somewhere that leather bags are less often faked than cloth ones. Has this been anyone elses experience? I'm looking to perhaps buy off of *bay sometime but I'm not looking at anything in particular
Thanks!!

I've heard other people say that not all the zippers on their bags were YKK's, that's not unusual. Believe me, a fake made in 2001 or 2002 would have a lot more obvious problems than just a stamp on a zipper. I've seen fakes from the early 2000's, and they're NOT nice to look at.
