Well, it seems to be a genuine Whitney Hobo bag, although the extra dash in the creed after the "No" still worries me a little, and in the original photo it looked like "States" was misspelled. But it's not the kind of bag that probably would have been counterfeited, because of the unusual way the strap attaches to the bag.

Thanks. Seems to be nice quality, but now I'm wondering about the -(dash) in the serial number too. Perhaps "oneshineyface" can let me know if hers has that dash in the middle of the serial number? You guys are great! Thanks again!!

Mine reads: No M92 - 9181................mine has a dash underneath the "o" in number and a dash between the set of serial numbers. There is no extra dash. My camera is charging otherwise I would have just posted a picture.

I bought my bag in August 2001 at the West Branch Coach Outlet in Michigan. It has the "O" stamped in the upper right of the creed.

This bag keeps its shape and stands upright on its own. It's very small, but catches attention whenever I carry it.

Just to add - my creed says it was "handcrafted in Turkey of completed natural-glove tanned cowhide." Nothing on my creed says anything about the United States. And mine does not have a pocket on the back.

Thanks! Hmmm. . . Perhaps a different bag? . . .This one does say hand crafted in the United States. and is quite large. . . 12"(across) x 11"(from bottom of bag to bottom of strap), no "O". The dashes are the same as yours, one dash under the o in "No." and one between 'M9D" and "9180". I did find one like on the Coach DD, but I'm not exactly sure what that means. (?) Could someone tell me about the drilldown? Thanks so much!

Hi, I was wondering if you can tell if this purse is authentic. I am thinking about buying it but the seller does not have receipts. Thanks

Temo, the picture of the creed in your first post shows a dash between the "No" and the rest of the number. I'm not talking about the underscore under the lower-case letter "o" but the dash right after that - that dash isn't supposed to be there. But that could be just a mistake at the plant.

If the style numbers aren't the same then they're different bags. If there's only one number difference then one is a smaller version of the other one so it's very possible one would have a rear pocket and the other wouldn't.

The drilldown is a search feature on the Coach site that will find about 50 percent of the recent Coach styles. Use this URL and just change the numbers after "drilldown2/" to the style number of the item.
