Hi,

I was hoping to get some help. I'm having trouble authenticating these wallets. Great prices but I don't know if they're fakes. Can anyone help?

Thanks

I've never seen this one:

This one I've only seen with white stitching. I believe it's the Hamptons 6k13:

I bought one at Dillards about 3 years ago, I think it was $108 and then on sale. it was the black and silver mini sig and it had vachetta leather interior. That is the ONLY one I have ever seen, but I can tell you that I have seen TONS of fakes sold at the carts in Georgetown (I just have to look to see what they are faking)

I would always steer clear of keychains checkbook covers and most wallets on ebay, especially signature ones

Thanks, Court, I agree completely about steering clear of those items.

The same counterfeiters who are making the fake "full-featured" checkbook wallets are making the fake checkbook covers. I don't think I would EVER buy a Signature wallet on Ebay unless it was from a totally trusted seller. As for keychains, almost anything made completely of metal is 99 percent sure to be counterfeit. Your odds get a bit better with the leather ones, but not by much.

And to repeat what I said in an earlier post for the benefit of anyone reading this post, almost EVERYTHING that comes in one of those white-with-brown-trim boxes is fake. As soon as I see one of those, it's like a "Macbeth" flashback - "By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes." Those things get my thumbs pricking in a big way.

Bag Lady, the "great prices" are a big red flag that just screams "FAKES"! Any seller that has more than one or two of the same or similar items (check the completed lisings) or sells wallets that list on Coaches website for more than $200 US can't sell them for 50 or 60 dollars !!!

Signature checkbook wallets don't get to the outlets very often and even on a special sale weekend will NEVER be less than 100 dollars US and usually a lot more.

IF THE PRICE LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE - IT IS

"Great prices" mean "lousy fakes"

Just wondering if this one is real...

If so, is it a good price? I'm new to this :shrugs:

Just found another one, although the pic seems like it's taken from the Coach website and the other pic is very small.

What questions should I ask the seller to authenticate it?

I can't give any opinions on the first bag. But I'd ask the seller for a LOT more pictures of the second one. In fact, I'd probably avoid it completely. The very small photo can be a sign that the seller used someone else's photo, and I'd never buy from anyone who illegally uses photos from Coach's website. Bags that were "gifts" almost always turn out to be fakes. There is NO information about the bag itself, not even a serial number.

The first one seems authentic and the seller has a pretty good history with Coach bags.
The price is good.

YUCK !!!!

Really bad fake - there's no pony hair used at all, the monkey's face is wrong, and that plain white box with the Coach logo is the newest fake box the fake sellers are using along with the white and brown one and the one with the streak of watercolor shades across it.

Right now, every Monkey keychain on Ebay, especially the metal ones, are all fake except maybe this one. But even this listing is using a photo from Coach's website:

What worries me about this one is the color differences betwen the website stock photo and the seller's photos, but that could just be her camera settings.
