I think the seller of the smaller 11179 tote has a good reputation, it looks like their Coach items are mostly outlet purchases.

And I've noticed some of those bags have slightly misalignd C patterns, even the genuine ones although the alignment is much worse on the fakes. If the alignment is a bit off then the Cs along the side seams won't match up.

The first and second wristlets seem to be OK - but the third seller has me wondering. WHY would anyone think a Patent Ergo is reversible? And why would anyone treat patent leather like this???

She also has several Sig Stripe bags that have "Carly" in the description. I'm not sure if she can't tell the difference or if she's trying to manipulate Search results, but she doesn't show close-ups of the creeds either. I'd rather buy from someone who at least tries to post accurate listings with creed photos. JMO, of course.

I love the older bags too, but if there's time before the auction ends it's always a good idea to ask the buyer if the bag has been re-dyed or re-colored in any way and to ask for photos of the bottom corners. I've seen some where the bottom corners have gotten a bit worn and have been re-dyed or even covered over with shoe polish.

These all look genuine - the first one is a Ramblers Legacy from 1994, the second is a Court Bag from 1996, and the third is actually a Station Bag, not a Murphy, probably from the late 1980s or very early 1990s.

btw, i'm new in this forum. can you tell me where is the thread that discuss about vintage coach and where to buy it? sorry If i'm OOT

She says she received THREE of them? Yeah, right. Half the fakes on Ebay were "gifts" from someone and the seller
didn't like the bag
or
already had one
or
broke up with the giver a week later and dooesn't want anything that reminds her of him.

What a load of horse poop! And yes, that's plastic on the strap, and the edges of the creed aren't cut straight either. Big Ol' FAKE.

I have not gone to a coach store to guarantee it's authenticity - if that is what you are asking. But, I have checked the "authenticity rules" regarding Coach Bags, and this bag is symettric with all the signs of an authentic coach bag (real leather/double stitching). They were gifts (as I really liked the bag) and they
have never been used. I believe that it is 100% authentic, and will stand behind it with a refund, if you are not happy with it.

Coaches made before 1994 had unique serial numbers that didn't include the style number so there's no way to check them.

There are a lot of sellers of vintage Coach on Ebay, you just have to find a bag you like and come here to check and be sure it's authentic. Just Search Ebay for "Coach classic" or "Coach vintage".

but until the Search feature of this forum is fixed there's no way to look for posts about vintage bags.

It's the seller's responsibility to be absolutely sure the item is authentic before listing. She also sold an identical bag earlier today and used the same photos for both bags.

And there are NO "Authenticity Rules" for telling real from fake. Just because a bag is leather or leather-trimmed and has double stitching or YKK zippers is no proof whatsoever that it's genuine.
The stitching on the hangtag and the edges of the creed patch are screaming "fake".
