I am by no means an expert at all - but the spacing on the creed seems funny - I believe all creeds on authentic bags are evenly spaced...

No, they're not, especially on bags more than two or three years old. I've said many times that there are no such things as hard and fast rules, and almost every so-called "rule" has at last one exception.

Forget about all the "How to tell a fake Coach" guides, forget about what anyone said (except me, of course - COUGH) that "all Coaches should have..." yada yada. THE RULES CHANGE ALMOST EVERY YEAR.

There's nothing wrong with the serial number spacing on that creed - for that year and that stage in Coach's history.

"What's true on Coaches today isn't necessarily true on Coaches from a few years ago or older... and Coach didn't start using metal grommets on their hangtags as a regular thing until somewhere around '03 going by the catalogs I have. The year code in the serial # shows 2002, there hasn't been and there won't be an 02 year code until 2102.

About things like where the underscores and dashes and gaps are supposed to be in the creeds - there WAS no exact standard up until the last few years - every plant started out with it's own dies and templates, and it's perfectly normal for them to be different. Some Ebay posters can even tell what country a "classic" bag was made in by the creed font and format and the spacing of the serial number digits. So don't read too much into it if an earlier bag, say before 2004, has a creed that's a bit different, although someone here should still take a look at it to be sure.

Don't depend on "rules", Coach changes the rules as they go, and for every rule except maybe one or two there's an exception or at least a disagreement."

I'm sorry :crybaby:I was just trying to be helpful since no one else was in here...like I said I was no expert (by any means) but am trying to learn. Sorry - I am kind of new around here and didn't see what you posted a few days ago. I appreciate you coming in and setting that straight for them. If I have any questions - I'll know to look for you - you really know your stuff!

It looks fine.

Thanks a bunch :)

This looks good. The creed is fine - some smaller items like swingpacks will not have serial numbers on the creed (it really depends on the style). This seller is a reputable seller - their items are always very thoroughly described and all flaws are noted. Their items often end at reasonable prices. Often the items are actually in better condition than described. This seller is on my favorites list.

Thanks...so much to learn!!
