I would need to see better pics of the wallet, but just to let you know that many of these wallets were on sale at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago. There were many posts in the main Coach forum about these. I believe that they were selling for $89-$99 there.

WOW now I'm bummin' ..TJ Max? Well that was before I knew about this forum so I won't beat myself up too bad. That is probably where it came from because it did not have a gift receipt or a price tag. Is the creed below real?

No. This is one reason why it's so dangerous to use the same "rules" for all Coach items, or for Coaches made years apart. SOME genuine Signature wallets can have Logo (lozenge) linings. Whether they do or don't is no proof whatsoever that the wallet is real or fake unless a wallet has a lining it's not supposed to have in that style.

There are no simple "rules", except maybe for the "Cs on the right and left sides must be mirror images" and there are exceptions to that too like the Optic patterns and a few Scribble Hobos, Scarf Print bags and the new Soho Signature Cotton bags.

And most so-called "rules" don't apply AT ALL on older bags or wallets. Every item has to be analyzed on its own. That's why if I'm not familiar with a bag, I won't give an opinion unless I see something that I absolutely know is wrong on any Coach. And I've been wrong about that more than once too. :shame:

Thanks very much Hyacinth for sharing your knowledge.:smile1:

If you have a photo editing program like Irfanview you can use that to re-size the photo, or if you have an account at a photo hosting service like Photobucket you can use their tools to re-size the picture.

Irfanview is a great program BTW, and it's free of charge AND free of spyware. It does a lot more than re-sizing photos:

The Drilldown is a tool that can find Coach's photo of an item from the style number. It only works about 60 percent of the time. Older bags, items made for the outlets, current bags that have just been discontinued and bags made exclusively for department stores won't show up.

Save this entire link as a page in Bookmarks or Favorites. Then to find a specific style number, just click on the link to bring up the page, use your cursor to delete the # I have saved (5659) and replace it with the style number you have. Then click. If you gat a page saying the page is being updated, that just means the number isn't in the system, it doesn't necessarily mean the number is fake. And this is only a rough guide. Some drilldown photos will be slightly different from the real item.

This forum shortens the URLs - here's the actual path without the URL prefix:

THANK YOU SO MUCH for all this help. I really appreciate it. I did get the pic resized. Please see attached. Real?

Yes, the Legacy wallets from TJ Maxx are real. Many tPFers bought these wallets when they were on sale at TJ Maxx. If you do a search, you can find posts several posts on it.

Coach DID make a line of lightweight travel bags and accessories that would have used that exact creed. They were probably the first bags Coach made in China, and the style number matches the one in my old reference guide.

It should be about 15x11x7 and is called a Double Compartment Carry-On, list price in 1997 would have been about 400 dollars US. Nice find!

Thank you. Is your old reference guide viewable for other people?

I've got a black Coach briefcase--it looks like a double Willis--it has the stiff bar at the top, TWO twist clasps over pockets, the same kind of hardware with the half-loop hangers for the hand strap. it has a fob, serial number 1259-315, it has that old outlet bullseye stamp, and it is made in the United States. is this bag authentic? is this some rarity, or some mutatant freak that was never made by Coach? I'm having trouble re-sizing my photos, i'll try to post a picture later today. thanks!
