Zealous, I saw your previous (pre-edited) post and used the picture from it to make the following side-by-side comp.

IMO, it's rather telling because I think there are significant differences between both the wheels and the hang tag in us2014_elah vs. an authentic version.

Note that the spokes on the wheels are indented from the edge of the wheel on the authentic version vs. lining up evenly on us2014 elah's version. There is also a difference in the look of the font on the hang tag.

Hey, BB! The piece you posted about had reminded me of a bracelet & I searched for that. Then, because I hadn't closely compared the pieces, I decided to edit as I wasn't sure how helpful my post would be. :) Glad you were able to do some detective work with the link. Happy Sunday to you!

I'm wondering though - 12444 and 12692/95 have 2 different styles of HAC charm, the first with a clip that makes it removeable and the second that looks like there's no clip and the links are solid all around. It may be that the chain was forced off a 12692/95, an oversize and cheap link used to hold the ends together, and an aftermarket Ace Hardware Store clip added to it. The charms by themselves look identical down to the tiniest detail, and it's possible that the genuine Carriage charm from the newer bag style didn't have indented wheel spokes either - I can't find any close-up photos to examine.

Here's a slightly larger pic from the black 12695 I posted earlier, compared to the charms of the "bracelet" being questioned. There's no doubt at all that the clip and that big O-ring with it's too-large gap are not genuine Coach, but the links and charms might be. Below the compro is a full-length photo of the genuine charm from 12695.

Of course the bracelet still isn't a "complete" Coach item but it may not be quite as fake as we originally thought.

I agree.

Every detail on that Dinky is exactly right, and it's definitely a genuine Coach, made in the late 1970s or early 1980s. It's impossible to pinpoint exact dates on the very early bags since Coach didn't include date codes in the serial numbers until 1994. But that IS an authentic and vintage Dinky Bag.

Thank you Hyacinth for authenticating this bag. I messaged the buyer multiple times and referred her to this forum, but she didn't respond to any of my messages. So I just filed a claim ("Feedback abuse") against the buyer, and let's see what eBay says in a few days. Thank you again for your authentication :)

Hi, would you pls help to authenticate this bag?
Item: Coach Crosby Patchwork -- Black, Large (one size)

Since this is an online item, please refer to post #1 for the information we need, including a link to the listing:

This is okay. For future requests, the following format is the way it should be and is easier for both you and authenticators.

Thanks @Beenburned.

Does it means the bag is authentic? Just for make sure.. :)

Yes, that's what it means. And so does OK, seems ok, looks fine, and anything else. If it can't be authenticated either way, we'll say so..

If it's counterfeit, we say it straight out - FAKE, NOT a genuine Coach, or something else that makes the meaning very clear. Sometimes we'll just say "YUCK!!!" if it's REALLY bad.
