BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.

  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Hi there.

One of my friends purchased this used from someone and is questioning authenticity. The person she bought it from says it's very old. When I look at her pictures it looks like the center stripe is not lined up with the hinge and open button.

Of course I don't know so I am asking here. Any help on authenticity of this compact mirror would be greatly appreciated.

It looks fine but the seller doesn't know how to read serial numbers because the bag isn't "Vintage item from the 1980s." It was made in 1994 so it is vintage but considerably newer than the seller claims.

In fact, several other listings from TheAftCabin have inaccurate dating.

I've also been looking but I haven't seen this exact one I posted anywhere. I know that some older Coach items don't have a stamp. I thought, if it were older, it might be okay but I have yet to find one that looks like this one. Thank you! I hope we can figure it out.

It wouldn't be "vintage" since the Carriage emblem with the stripe background hasn't even been around for 10 years.. Not sure of the exact date but 2007 sounds about right.

There's a chance it might be one of those small gifts included with other purchases or with fashion magazines, Coach does a lot of those outside the US, especially in Japan. They very rarely show up in the US but it happens. But there's no way we can authenticate them, all we can do is look for obvious defects. There are just some items that's can't be authenticated with the information in front of us.
