Thank you Hyacinth.
I have bookmarked the guide you suggested & will read it.

One question I have is , how does one know the age of a bag if it was made before the 90's? Does one have to rely on coach catalog history?

Thank you for your help
Christine

If it was made before 1994 it's almost impossible to pin it down to one exact year, but sometimes we can do it based on a combination of creed details and when the bag was introduced according to the catalogs. Otherwise the creed wording and serial number format help narrow it down to sometimes as short as a 3-year period. Styles from before 1980 are the hardest to date, luckily there were only about a dozen styles in production then, plus some of the Cashin designs.

It doesn't help that a few earlier guides really messed up some of the important years, there was one that was almost 10 years off on some dates and details. Very few sellers actually know the date their bags were made, so sellers' descriptions should always be verified here. And I won't even get into the whole "Cashin-Era" BS, it just raises my blood pressure. :censor:

the turnlock doesn't have indents but that might have been changed
the bucles say solid brass
Is that the defining tell of it being fake?
As always I Appreciate your help sooo much

"Solid Brass" on those buckles absolutely means Fake. Coach stopped using solid brass buckles in the late 1980s on everything except a few early 1990s Dakotas. The buckles and the mistakes in the creed wording and serial number fonts are absolute proof.

Get your money back from the Ebay seller.
I also think the shape of the flap is too round and the turnlock is a little too high.

Hello, Can anyone tell me if this is authentic? I feel pretty certain that it is, I think it may be one made for the outlets?
Editing because it is now listed on ebay, I am the seller.

I was wondering if this is an authentic Coach Bleeker Cooper Satchel. It is a recent purchase from a thrift store and I am not sure of its authenticity.

Thank you for your help.

All are fine.
1. court bag 9870 from early 90s.
2. pocket purse 9755 from the 80s. Creeds were hand-stamped. It is common that they didn't end up perfectly straight.
3. basic bag 9455 from the late 70s/early 80s. I have seen no evidence that Bonnie Cashin had anything to do with this bag's design, as the seller says. Bonnie Cashin left Coach at the time this style was introduced. I'm not sure what your issue with the hardware is.

Good evening, Coach afficionados! My friend asked if I could post this for authentication. She's interested in purchasing the Coach if it is determined to be authentic. Thank you for your time and assistance.

The second one is authentic. The first one needs a better picture of the creed that shows the number. The number provided by the seller isn't valid for this style.

Thank you!
1. In the future, NEVER list an item before you know (with 100% certainty) that it's authentic. The law (and as such, ebay policy) requires that sellers know items are authentic or they cannot be sold anywhere.

2. The purse forum rules disallow posting your own listings for authentication as it can be construed as advertising. If you need an item authenticated (that you didn't purchase directly from an authorized retailer), you may post pictures only without mentioning selling

3. The bag looks okay.
