I'm not sure why the serial number starting with a "J" in post # 11970 might be a problem?
I'm guessing she misunderstood your post here where you referred to "J" bags from the 1990s. (But her bag is 2003.)

It's about 2/3 down this post:
http://forum.purseblog.com/showpost.php?p=26447783&postcount=1078

Where you said:
"Lately there have also been fakes using various fake prefixes all beginning with J with year codes from the 1990s and using plant codes D,H and Y, but I'm sure others will eventually turn up with different numbers.
In fact there are a lot of questionable bags from the middle and late 1990s starting with the month code "J". It seems to be a special favorite with counterfeiters but it also was used in authentic bags. Have these authenticated if possible."

Could be. That's why re-reading the Guides every few months is important, it helps cement some of those small details into our memory banks just a bit more accurately.

That is what I was referring to BeenBurned. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

An oldie maybe 1970's Slim Satchel something or other. I have her "taller" sister, but don't have a style number, nor correct name for this one. There's significant damage to one of the handles, but the price was right, so I'll be using all my rehab skills to mend this one.
Thanks for more info, as always!

Hi authenticators,

I just recently started looking into vintage bags and just got my first couple of them. I'm all excited about rehabbing them but want to check that everything is in order first. Here are two of them. There is a third one on the way tomorrow so I'll post that one later. Thank you in advance for helping me out. Hopefully the format is ok, if straight up pictures are preferred to auction links pls let me know!

Item: Vintage COACH 9870 Classic COURT BAG Black Leather Shoulder Bag Handbag Purse
Listing number: 181981664786
Seller: retro-remix
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181981664786?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Comments: Strap seems pretty short (drop length is only 16'') compared to others of the same model, especially those that came with adjustable straps have drop lengths in the 20''s. This listing has pretty good pictures.

Item: COACH 9908 Devon Green Leather Cross Body Messenger Purse Adjustable Strap
Listing number: 301803620631
Seller: fab-n-frugalboutique
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301803620631?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Comments: I have included a clearer picture of the creed and hardware in addition to that in the listing. Let me know if you need additional ones I'll be happy to post more up.

Thank you so much and have a good weekend ~~

The Court Bag seems ok but the strap may have been changed. Coach did have an option in the mid and late 1980s to replace the longer 44-inch strap with a shorter 35-inch one but I don't know if that's what happened here. The strap looks a tiny bit wider than the standard Court Bag strap, and the bag is from the early 1990s.

The Devon Bag is ok, made in 1994

Hi could someone help me figure out if this Coach Court bag is real? I found it on Craigslist. And asked for pictures of the creed. I'm wanting to make sure it's real before making the trip to get it.
Also, does it matter that it was made in Turkey and not US? Is it an older bag? Thank you so much.
