Thanks for so willingly helping all of us here.

Looks like the first one was dyed or shoe-polished to me.

Hi Everyone!

This is my most recent find- Cute for fall, but is it real?!? LOL If it is that would be great & I wonder what style it would be? I've seen some similar to this, but with a pocket on the front. I like the dome shape, the little slip pocket inside, and the way the handles were attached on the opposite sides of the zipper.

Many thanks! Oh, It's about 6" tall up the middle by 8 3/4" wide across the bottom by about 2" deep with a 22" drop. The numbers read 0165 311.

It's an authentic Kimball zip 9911 from the early 90s.

That's interesting, I found 5 items which I searched for musette....all 5 looks the same. So I guess a lot of sellers just assumed name of bags [emoji57]

If grey color wasn't available in old vintage days, what about Forrest Green Willis? Was there such color available for Vintage?
Many sellers get the Musette and Carrier mixed up, and they borrow the names from other listings which might not be accurate.

There was a flannel grey available in the 80s. There was a forest green in the late 80s or early 90s and a bottle green in the early 90s. Any bag that is vintage is going to have brass hardware. Coach didn't start using nickel hardware until the late 90s.

According to a Coach ad, the dowel wasn't used in bags until 1991. The Willis was introduced in 1993 so you aren't going to find many of that style that are truly vintage.

1- Genuine. It's a Carrier Bag, not a Musette. I'm wondering about the condition of the leather especially on the front flap, and also what kind of product or process gave the bag that shine. Wait for other comments on condition.

2- There's no creed photo and we won't authenticate a bag without one especially not one as frequently faked as the Willis. Also, if it's genuine it's not vintage since it couldn't have been made earlier than around 1999 since it's Gray and has silver hardware. There's nothing that points to it being fake but without a creed and serial number photo that's all I can say.

I didn't say that Grey wasn't available on vintage bags. Grey leather TOGETHER WITH silver/nickle hardware wasn't available then. Read my answer carefully.

Thanks for such a great info, Whateve n Hyacinth! I will try my luck in another Willis I found which is forest green (not nickel hardware) n try to find mussette again.

Vintage coach is very addictive n interesting! Bought 7 already but I just can't stop! [emoji37]

Hi, here are the pics. Thank you!

Definitely fake. The lining should never have Cs on it and should be a solid color light chocolate brown, the strap clip isn't shaped correctly and is too small and too thin - compare it to the photos in post # 9783. There should be off-white contrast stitching on one edge of the strap and around the leather front patch, and the Coach logo on the patch isn't using a genuine Coach font. The colors and flowers on the Floral patch on the lower right aren't correct either.
