Wow! Before commenting on authenticity of both bags, I have a comment about Poshmark seller serendipityinny.

She needs to be educated about the law surrounding the sale of counterfeit items (or possibly counterfeit items). She needs to understand that unless an item is KNOWN to be authentic or if it isn't known, she needs to find out BEFORE it's legal to sell it.

Her "decorating" the bag with sharpie stars in an attempt to hide the Coach creed and markings and her description that she "embellished yet destroyed any signs of branding which rhymes with POACH," still does NOT make it okay to peddle items that may not be authentic.

Clearly, she believes her item to be fake.

With that said, it turns out that the bag is an authentic City bag, style 9790.

The Mercari bag is authentic also.
How stupid to deface a bag just in case it might not be authentic. Why wouldn't she find out first?

Good morning authenticators! I just bought a Coach Quincey bag from a Carrousel seller… the posting seemed fine but when the bag arrived I checked the inside and found a “made in Vietnam” label. This confuses me because the creed says it is made in the USA.. I have a similar vintage Coach bag with a made in China tag.. please help me… 😭

That's really weird!

Not to be snarky, but are you sure that the “made in Vietnam” label is attached inside that bag? Does it appear to have been added, maybe glued in after the fact?

The other pictures you showed, assuming it's the same bag you received, show an authentic bag made in 1995.

Geez! You are right! It's already glued and easy to tear! thank you for answering my overthingking... So, what’s the reason they put glue from other countries in their bags?

I’ve attached more pictures of my vintage Coach bag with the 'Made in China' tag... This is such a relief.

LOL! The seller probably read (in some nonsense online guide) that Coach bags have to have a made in label and thought the bag was fake without it. So he/she added it.

The 'Made in Vietnam' tag seems so real... This is new for me. From now on, I need to be more careful when purchasing another bag. Anyway, thank you for sharing... have a nice day ❤️❤️❤️

It may be real or it may be fake. It just didn't come from the bag you bought. (I have seen fake "made in Vietnam" tags with outlet marks.)

Hello authenticators! Would you be willing to have a look at this bag? I did my diligence and I *think* it’s authentic, but see some comments below….

Item: 9135 Small Hippie Flap
Serial: A0P-9135
Purchased: Goodwill
Measurements: ~9.5H x 9W, strap ~46.5L
Comments: Details seem to my novice eye to tick and tie. Leather is much thinner, smoother, lighter weight than my full grain US bags of same era, but I recall reading here on TPF that’s maybe not unusual for Costa Rica bags…? Strap is stiff but may be age/dryness/dirt.

What concerns me more are the black ink-stamp numbers I belatedly discovered *under* inside pocket, on inside of back panel. See photo. It looks like “2.10 - 2” and then maybe the ghost of additional digit(s) that fades off. Possibly a leather weight stamp that snuck through QC under the large interior pocket…?? (That would actually be kind of cool as long as it doesn’t spread in the bath this little one needs.)

Fingers crossed. So grateful for your expert input!!! 🙏
