Dear Authenticators,
I just got this bag from a local thrift store for $15. If I’m not mistaken, it’s a Coach Compact Pouch (style 9620) in British tan. The inside creed though does not show this style number. Does this mean it is a faker? Or could it be made earlier before it was assigned “9620”? The Coach hangtag is missing and so I thought for its low selling price, I could still use it even if it’s not genuine Coach, but I’m still hoping it is! Thanks for checking the attached pics for authenticity. Btw, when was the Compact Pouch introduced by Coach, as far back as the early ‘80s?

It's authentic, made in the early 90s. They started putting style numbers in bags in 1994. It still had the same style number before that, just not put on the bag. The compact pouch was made for a long time, probably early 80s. I could have sworn I saw a version of it with a removable strap made earlier than that but I can't find it in my files.

PHEW!! Thanks so much for authenticating what I think is a great find. Yes, I saw a reviewer on Youtube with an older version that has a removable and adjustable strap with clips, claimed to have been already around in the '70s.

Hi, I would like to get everyone’s opinion on this vintage coach city bag (?), dark blue. The hang tag only has the coach logo stamped on one side, not sure if that is normal or not.
